She said it in the vol 42(And in the anime version of the vol 42), she was masquering as the serial killer because she had thought than Akai would be less suspicious(And so, more vulnerable) with an average serial killer than he would have been with a member of the black org...
And if the police had found the guy dead, it's was, in my opinion, because vermouth had killed him to take his place, after all, it was what she had planned to do with Haraide...
Vermouth had keep the serial killer's corpse in the case she could not kill Akai, because he was more dangerous for her in her current state(It was before she become young again...)... If the serial killer he had wounded was found dead, Akai would not search him anymore and Vermouth could escape in peace...
But well, it's just my theory...^^

But as for it being before she became young again, I thought that had happened shortly after Jodie's father was killed, and that she would just disguise herself as Sharon as the years went by, and then finally decided to just have Sharon "die" so she wouldn't have to keep doing that anymore. But I dunno.... I could be forgetting something else.

Well, I'm not too sold to the idea than Vermouth had not aged since Jodies's father's murder... Oh, I don't said it's an impossible thing but there is not a single hint in the manga which could prove than Sharon's face in golden apple was a disguise...Or maybe Chris vinyard's "existence"? I imagine, though, that whether or not Sharon was often a disguise, Vermouth would have been losing faith all through the years, and that when she was Sharon, those were her true feelings coming out. Her flirting as Chris could either be another side of her personality, or else her taking on her daughter's personality. But probably both.

By the way, sorry if I don't have read your last fics yet, but well, for now, I'm not in the mood to read Gin/Sherry fic in a romantic way...^^;
Oh I don't said that it's impossible to made romantic stuff with this pairing. In the universe you have built with your fics, it could be done in a believable way, and you don't had transform those two in a couple of ridiculous lovey dovey...
Melancholic and bittersweet romance with Gin/Sherry are fine with me, it's just I'm not in the mood for it those day...
It was the same thing with Conan/Ai. In the past, I could not stand fics which picture this pairing in a one-sided and "impossible love" way, but SN, June and First Silvera have made me slowly change my point of view and now, I love this kind of fics with all my heart...It would be the same with the way you handle Gin/Sherry, I think...^^

For me, her flirting with Gin are just a part of her lack of hope.
In golden apple, she seemed so desesperate than justice don't exist in the world and than criminal could made murder without punishment, when, on the other hand, good people are not rewarded for their hard work and could even be killed for the way they act...
So I could see her take pleasure to push herself in the sin.. It could be a way for her to forgot her lost faith in the good, and a way for her to accept than injustice is better than justice to survive in this world...
The more I think of it, the more I think she don't trully flirt with Gin but with what he is representing for her, a murderer who don't feel remorses and who don't have hope to made him suffer(After all, Gin don't believe in paradise...It could have so many meaning)
But well, it's just the way I love to see Vermouth... I'm also fascinated by the idea than Vermouth was another side of Sharon, and I also love to think than Chris could have existed and than her mother had take her place...
Sigh...Vermouth is a so complex and fascinating character...*_*

In a timeline with the black org destroyed, Gin not searching to kill Shiho anymore and with Shiho forgiving Gin for Akemi's death, the pairing become less tragic and fascinating for me...^^

Sn and first Silvera had wrotte Conan/ShinichixShiho/Ai on a one-sided way, but on Shinichi's side(Yes, it could become believable when it's handled in the right way), which is more interessing than on Ai's side...Xd
But well...Sarcasms and Encounter in Venice are not finished yet, and Fs had promised to made a sequel to the antidote, so it could become two-sided...^^
...or not? It's hard to imagine a Shinichi/Shiho story wrotte by First Silvera where the two partner finish to found happyness together, the flow of time seemed always torn apart those two...^^; XD
june's stories about those two are always two-sided, but in With this ring, well, their love is impossible(Not exactly, it's just those two could not finish happyly ever after...).
Not because it's one-sided or because Shinichi feelings had evolves when it was too late, but because the black org exist...

Well, Yukiko talk about Chris but she don't seemed to have met her before Sharon's burrial...
After all, Sharon had never met Shinichi before Golden apple, so it's possible than Yukiko could not had met Chris before without finding it suspicious...
And "officially", Sharon and her daughter were torn apart when she was "alive" so...
Sometimes, I wonder if Chris was just the other side of Sharon, Vermouth...
I could picture Sharon seeing Vermouth like another person she had give birth to, in a way, but a person she hate besides that(Or because of that?)
And it could explain why she had told to her friend than her daughter had disguised himself as her dead father... Maybe it was a way for Sharon to tell than the dark side of her had killed her husband?

XD In my opinion, Gin/Akai period is scary. Though, I find I can actually more easily imagine Gin being fascinated by Akai than Vermouth.

^^ My rare hopelessly romantic side insists that tragic couples must have a happy ending if at all possible. I'm sure Des can attest to that. You may or may not be interested in No Way Out and Snow White Queen. As I mentioned, they'll deal with the darker interactions between the two, but of course, they'll also bring things to the point they are at in the future timeline. Shiho has not yet encountered Gin in No Way Out, though, and I'm still determining exactly how to lead up to it. ~~I'm still messing with Breakdown, chapter 7, too. It just won't come out right.~~

I imagine Gin will always be somewhat possessive and twisted in their relationship, and perhaps morbid lines of conversation will be common between them. With Gin's twistedness and Sherry's wryness, I can somehow see them making various remarks about death, or at least hers. Kinda like on Gundam W when "Come kill me sometime!" became the running joke between Relena and Heero.

One-sided Conan/Ai on his side does sound interesting, and different.

What was Sharon supposed to have died from, anyway?

Very intriguing theories indeed. X3 I like that concept, and it would explain where Chris "went" to.

Musashi's shown with bangs twice, but the first time was because Eneco (Haruka's) frayed her hair, so Musashi chased everyone around with a machine and then everyone laughed.

That wasn't the first Conan parody, so it's probably not the last. xD My favorite is still Hiroshi (who's voiced by Conan's seiyuu!) explaining how the kidnapping of Ookido-hakase must have played out... with shadowed figures drawn all... it was just such an /obvious/ parody! We haven't had such obvious ones since... since the Utena one in the Erika episode!
