EWWWWWWWWW! Ew, ew, ew!
Yami Marik made it so Mai has illusions of feeling the pain when her monsters are destroyed. But she also sees illusions of Yami Marik's fate if his monsters are destroyed. So if her Amazoness decapitates Makyura ... **cries.**
... Though in all honesty, I'm actually glad to see the scene, and the contrast between what Mai's seeing and reality, because that makes the duel between Yami Bakura and Yami Marik not quite as creepy. (They showed Mai's illusion and then cut to showing what was really happening and the others wondering why she was screaming in horror, as it looks like a normal duel to them. o.o) I don't quite understand why, but in the manga their bodies fading into the darkness looks much creepier and disgusting than in the anime. I'd have to actually watch those anime episodes again to try to compare it, I guess. Maybe in the anime it looked a bit more like fading as opposed to really being ... amputated?
And in any case, this will serve to help me with a new creepy project: a series of connected but stand-alone vignettes where Yami Bakura is abducted by Yami Marik and tortured as Yami Marik attempts to "tame the darkness." o.o
I bet slashers love that line of his, right? XD
