Bizarre Question of the Day

What are the freezer drawers like in a morgue's cold chamber? That is, if someone living ended up being in one, could they push their way out from the inside, or is it like being trapped in a refrigerator and it would be impossible for them to get out without help? I remember an episode of Mysterious Ways where a guy came back from the dead in the morgue and he was coming out of one of the freezer drawers, but I cannot remember if he opened it from the inside or if the pathologist had to open it. All I remember is him bumping around making noise, and the pathologist staring in shock and alarm a few minutes later when he started coming out of the open drawer.

I think I know who you're going to be putting in the morgue... X3

I dunno, I did a few quick Google searches and one of them brought up a news article that said a normal person would die from the cold anyway, so I guess you could just handwave it? Or I'd definitely suggest taking it to [livejournal.com profile] little_details. ^^

**nodnod.** I was thinking about the cold problem, too, so I also wondered how long someone could stay alive in there due to that. As soon as he, er, is alive, he tries to get out. XD

I was thinking that if he can't get out from the inside, I'll just let his uncle open the door.... XD;

There is the true story of a guy in Russia who was hit by a car and died and was in the cold chamber for like three days. Most of that time he was alive, I think. o.o And somehow he survived.

*nod* I dunno if you saw anything like this, but there's also positive temperature and negative temperature, and since there's no issue with identification here I guess you wouldn't have to worry about negative temperature. If the body's completely frozen... he probably wouldn't survive that. XD

That works too! X3

**nodnod.** Yep, that's turned up a lot in my searches. XD I was definitely thinking it would have to be positive temperature. ^^
