URGENT UPDATE! This in from angelflare!
EEEE! **sails over the moon.** Look at that gorgeous wing! And it's BLUE! YES!

Well ... This has been an interesting month. On my birthday I got season 4 of The Batman on DVD, another Clair Poulson novel, and a nice hardback of Ernest Hemingway novels, among other things. I really agree with his "iceberg" theory of writing. That's how I've tried to write for the last couple of years or so, letting dialogue tell a lot of the story and not telling every little thing going through the characters' minds. I try to trust that the readers are intelligent enough to pick up on what's suggested but not said. XD

And Kaze sent me a burned CD of FF7 voice actor songs, as well as the two most recent Rockapella Christmas albums! **squees.** They're so awesome. X3 They make me feel really Christmassy. Both of them are after Sean left, sadly, but I love them. ^^ I really like Kevin a lot; I think he was the perfect choice since they had to get another tenor. And it's great to hear Elliott on both CDs and Barry on one of them! They all have beautiful harmonies and sing a mixture of lots of different kinds of Christmas songs. And sometimes they do such silly things, like a monologue Scott does on Please Come Home for Christmas.

Crystal Rose has been sending me Carmen blurbs and pics, which are awesome! We both enjoy writing h/c, so the blurbs have a lot of that. X3 And the pics are mainly illustrations from Walk Like an Egyptian. Much fun and squee!

I've been having lots of crazy dreams of late, one of course being that cemetery one. I had another cemetery one, but it just involved me taking a headstone to use as a visual aid for something and then having to put it back. XD; And finding a bunch of people at a pavilion having a cookout in the cemetery! .__.;

I also had an awesome dream where Rockapella (the current lineup) was going to be giving a concert right here in the neighborhood, and I had gone to help set things up and hoped to meet the guys. X3

Then today I had a weird dream of tape-searching. I found a tape that had a totally different version of Zombie Jamboree on it, where the guys (Carmen era) were singing as they ran and leaped through a jungley/beachy area. LOL. And of course I woke up wanting to hear the song, so now it's been on Repeat for a while.

On the same tape I found a weird, WEIRD thing that said it was Little House on the Prairie but it was more like the Love Comes Softly series ... and it involved Aerith's and Seph's ancestors in a frontier town. And being a couple. And Seph dying. ;___; I despise the Seph/Aerith pairing, but the dream was kind of cute. And then it was so saaad!

In real-life, I heard Harry Belefonte's version of Zombie Jamboree, and it was one of the dumbest things ever. XD; The third verse switches gears completely and randomly talked about Brigette Bardot, and then the fourth verse was mostly the guy complaining about nuclear war. He tried to tie it into the song by saying if it happened, we'd all join the Zombie Jamboree. **rolls eyes.** Please to be keeping your political views out of a cheerful song about zombies, thank you very much!

The Kingston Trio's version, by comparison, is so amusing! The female zombie wants to marry the narrator and keeps bothering him. I was thinking how funny it would have been if Rockapella had sung that version sometime. I have this picture of how it would play out, with the female zombie chasing Sean and him mischievously singing the "I have to run away!" part. **snickers.**

I've been having the weirdest dreams recently too. Thankfully no cemetery ones yet!

I've been trying to do some writing myself, have an idea for a fantasy story but just haven't got round to doing it. Not sure if it'll come out at all like i imagine it in my head.

**facepalm** I've been meaning to get to the snowball pic, but in all the recent madness, I haven't had the chance... I'll try to start on it tomorrow evening. X3 And Yay h/c! X3 I'll be working on my Halloween updates next week, so there'll be more of it. X3

A cookout? Hmm, maybe that was the Jamboree! XD

Yay for dream that Rockapella was coming! I hope it comes true for you! ^^ And LOL at the Carmen-era boys in the beachy/jungle area! There's a plunny in that somewhere!. And aww... poor Seph's ancestor. ;__;

Okay, even I admit that that figure is pretty badass. The detail in the wings is gorgeous. Vibrant colour with a what looks to be an effective gradient.

Ooh. What Hemingway novels did you get? I honestly have not explored his novels terribly much, but we read an excerpt from The Sun Also Rises last semester. I do have a copy of the complete collection of his short stories laying around... **has actual been rather partial to making references/cracking jokes about "Snows of Kilimanjaro" as of late** Hemingway's iceberg principle is pretty nifty, though sometimes damn, he strips it down to the barest of the bare. You really have to slow down to make sure you know who is talking because there are zero tags in some passages.

Cookout in the cemetery... I'll have to remember that one. If I ever get back to my necromancer stuff, that'd be excellent.

... I kinda wanna hear that Belefonte's version of "Zombie Jamboree" now.

They had that Sephiroth figure up at TGS, but it wasn't colored *pets wing* I wonder how much it'll sell for - it doesn't look like it's on the Squeenix site yet.

........ Why on earth did I think your birthday was in the beginning of November rather than the beginning of October. WHY. I feel like such a jerk, and I'm really sorry. Geez, I could just crawl into a hole and die. *headdesk* Can I still make you something - headers, colorbars, wallpapers, icons, whatever - even though it's so late?

Awesome dreams, by the way. Now I have this mental image of Sephiroth and Aerith as Pa and Ma Ingalls. That's going to haunt my dreams tonight.

I don't think I've ever read an Ernest Hemingway novel. That would be interesting to see some more of that style. ^^ **hasn't heard it called "iceberg" before.**

Kevin is awesome. ^^ He's my favorite of the new Rockapella members, just because he's so cheerful, and you can tell that he really loves what he sings. ^^

That monologue was totally random! And so amusing. LOL.

That's such an awesome dream! ^^ I hope they really do a performance near you sometime. Maybe there's a theatre you could talk to about inviting them? That's what the website recommended, though I don't know how successful it would be. XD;

LOL. If only they'd done that version! I have to say though, of all the versions I've heard about, I still think Rockapella's is the best. ^^

I had no idea it was your birthday! Usually LJ gives an alert on those kinds of things...I'm sorry I missed it! And I hope it was a good day!

...that is a lovely figurine. Very nice shading on the wings, too.

As far as the song goes...I've heard the radiation-theory of zombie-creation somewhere, but now that I think of it, the only place I can say for mostly sure is someone suggesting in Night of the Living Dead that corpses were reanimating because of some sort of radiation from space. But...but! I think one of the short stories from which the script for Night of the Living Dead was cobbled together involved the last man on Earth surviving nuclear holocaust and having to battle hoardes of zombie-like individuals for survival (interestingly enough, that particular story was later made into the movie The Omega Man, and more recently the movie I Am Legend. Of course, I haven't seen that version of I Am Legend, so I can't compare adequately).

Okay, zombie!geek-moment over. I was also going to add that Bigitte Bardot was in at least one horror movie, but then I realized I was thinking of Adrienne Barbeau. ^_^;;
