Random stuff.
I forgot one of the upcoming stories, so I edited the previous post with its working summary. Lizzie will probably be very interested.
And so it's Easter weekend. I always get melancholy this time of year. I thought it would start on March 31st, but it waited until now instead. It was Easter in 2002, the last day of March, when JP first came to visit. X3 He subsequently came two following Springs, and while I think in some ways the third time flopped, the first two times were amazingly awesome. (And of course, the third time had some good moments too.) Dang, I miss those times. Sometimes I miss how carefree I was then, too. Not much knowledge yet of how real life and other things can interrupt indefinitely.
I suppose now is as good a time as any to confess: I've read Twilight. Just the first book (and the preview chapter of New Moon in the back), but yeah. I've always wanted to read it, in spite of everything I've heard. I think even it deserves a fair chance. But I wasn't sure when I'd get around to it. Then I was given it as a belated Christmas gift, which made me happy because then I wouldn't have to spend money on it without knowing what it was like. It was about a month and a half ago when it came into my possession. I finished sometime early in March.
The verdict? Well, of course I rolled my eyes at all the lovey-dovey scenes. So sickeningly sweet and downright cheesy. And Bella annoyed me a lot at those times and some others. I didn't like how the author tried to make her some super-smart kid who's already read all the English materials and knows the advanced science stuff, etc. And how she feels she doesn't fit in with the other kids her age. I think the way it was executed fell flat and made her look Mary Sueish.
But ... the overall plot wasn't too bad. In fact, I like it alright. And I like some of the characters. Remember Winx Club as my guilty pleasure? Well, this is also one. Even more of one than Winx, though. And darnit, I want to see what happens next. -.-

Aww... **hugs** ;__;
I still haven't broken down and read it yet... I guess because I'm thinking that if you've heard one vampire love story, you've heard them all... **pokes von Krolock** XD
Bleah at the Mary Sueish characters.
...And now I'll probably have to read the thing. XD

:) I still haven't read Twilight, although my sister went to see it at the theater, haha. My mom actually read it, though, and she loved it at first, but then started to find it repetitive as she read it to the end.

Yeah, I miss being carefree too. XD I hated having to do homework back in high school, but I always loved being done with it and not having to worry about anything else at all. And now.... I like being able to do so much more, but I still miss those times. They were so much simpler. XD
....Who's JP, by they way? Should I know this already? **tries to remember.**
LOL, I was totally wondering when you'd read that so I could ask you about it. XD At Sakuracon, I went to the panel, "When Bad Fics Attack," and they kept mentioning Twilight whenever Mary Sues were brought up. So I've been wondering if Bella really was that much of a Mary Sue. XD But considering how she's super-smart, and everything just randomly seemed to happen to her with out her ever influencing anything, she really does seem like a Mary Sue. XD; ....But I'm still curious enough to read it. And I rather liked.... Jacob, I think his name was? The Indian guy. XD

Yeah, I really don't find Bella appealing at all. Or Edward, for that matter, BECAUSE HE IS A GIANT CREEPER. I have to say, I really like all the other Cullens, though. Especially Carlisle, because Dr. Vampire? Now that's just cool.
And I know what you mean about the overall plot. Like, everything from the baseball part on is...well, pretty exciting. Now, there's the matter of why the rest of the book moved at such a snail's pace... -_-
Haha, I rented New Moon from the library back over winter break, and I ended up running out of time and not finishing it before I went back to school - because it doesn't even get remotely interesting until about page 400 or so. Prior to that it's just Bella being so stupid I want to scream. XD;
