Another quiz. ^^

HASH(0x8c57cd8)
Cho Hakkai

You're calm and polite, and always wear a smile,
despite how you may actually feel. You're the
one keeping things sane and taking care of
everyone else. However, when things upset you,
you can get pretty insane, yourself.

Which Saiyuki Character Can You Best Identify With?
brought to you by Quizilla

The Saiyuki movie was awesome. X3 And it was really dark, too. I can understand why it carried a warning about mature content. ^^; I used to think that the phrase usually meant something to do with sexual situations, but I knew that Saiyuki didn't have that, so I figured that for it to have that warning meant that it was for violence and thematic elements. Dougan mutating near the end of the movie was really freaky. That is not something I'd want a kid to see. But I can understand the reason for it. The movie was very deep and taught some very good principles, such as what can happen if one becomes too overly obsessed with something. My dad thinks that in Star Wars, it's wrong for Yoda to say that having attachments is bad and such. But what I really think Yoda meant is that one should never become so attached that they become obsessed, because that will lead to tragedy. The Saiyuki movie depicts this hauntingly. And in whatever small ways, I think all of us are like Dougan. Surely there's been times in all of our lives when we've idolized someone so much and wanted nothing more than to be with them and to please them and to be good enough for them. The lesson in the movie really hit home for me.

And I was really surprised at how much I liked Gojyo. I really thought I wouldn't care as much for him because of his womanizing and his incessant swearing. ^^; But actually he didn't swear too badly in the movie, and his womanizing didn't really bother me. It wasn't any worse that what's on M*A*S*H sometimes. Gojyo really is a good person too, and it shows in the movie. Plus, I adore his quarrels with Goku. The manga describes Gojyo as an older brother figure, and I can definitely see that in the way he treats Goku. XD It's obvious that their arguing is a form of showing affection for each other. That's why Hakkai stayed so calm, I imagine. And I love at the end of the movie, where Gojyo puts his arm around Goku and asks him why he's so gloomy. The flashback scene where Goku glomps Hakkai and then Gojyo puts his arms around their shoulders is also really cute. X3 I must find screengrabs of that, and of Gojyo's "WTH?!" expression. XD I wanna make an icon of that.

Oh yeah, and Kougaiji and the others were great! They weren't around too much, but I loved their scenes. Kougaiji is really a cool guy. And Lirin is really cute, especially with her Japanese voice. **was watching it in Japanese.**

I just hope that my interest in Saiyuki won't completely take over and push aside my interest in YGO and the bikers. ^^; I guess I kinda doubt it will, though, since YGO has remained #1 ever since I first got into it and anime. **looks over Life After the Tears in an attempt to figure out the next chapter.**

The Saiyuki movie definitely made a good impression, though, as I dreamed vague Saiyuki dreams when I went to sleep. o.o; Mixed in with that was a really creepy dream involving angel statues being possessed by evil spirits and coming to life torturing us and the neighbors. O__o; I think I dreamed about that because of Elora's description of the Constantine movie. **laugh.**

You probably fit Hakkai's personality pretty well too . . .

Heh. Yeah, mature warnings can be a little confusing sometimes. They can be a little too vague. >.>;;;

Gojyo is the bomb. LOL I personally love his colorful personality, especially since he's a good guy deep down. **pauses** He does have some Hawkeye qualities. LOL Also a little of Han Solo if you think back to the Han Solo triology and the Han Solo Adventures . . . Either way, he's awesome. XD He's just one of those guys that grows on you. XP

If I can find that program again, I could get you some screenshots . . . **got rid of it 'cause she never used it** I'd like to have some of those screenshots myself. XD

Kou is kewl too. I remember Lirin's Jap voice and it is adorable, it's kinda annoying in English, but still amusing. XD She harrasses poor Sanzo so badly . . .

I know what you mean about that. **has wondered about that sometimes in the past** But it's hard to keep complete and total utter interest in something when there are no new episodes coming out. **ready for the new season, even if it's KC Grand Prix** And when something's kinda your first fave . . . it sticks with you. XD **still has a fondness for Dragon Knights after all this time** And if you did lose interest I'd certainly miss our YGO RPs. XD;;; Especially with how long they've been going on and how the world has developed. It's hard to recreate something like that.

>_>;; Don't forget about POTT please . . . I actually got email from that Daughter of Horus person for me to tell you to hurry with the next chapter. ~.~;;;

LOL . . . I think I had a Saiyuki dream once. And angel statues? XD Odd. **doesn't remember anything like that in the movie** Though it was really kewl when there was a demon in the mirror.

XD I think it was more because of her telling that Gabriel turned out to be bad. That kinda weirded me out and probably inspired the dream.

@___@ I can't believe DoH did that, though I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise. -___-; Honestly.

^^ Oh I'm sure I'd never lose interest in YGO to the point of wanting to drop the RPs. But it might make it harder to get the stories done. XD; I doubt it will happen, though.

Yay for screenshots!

How old is Lirin supposed to be, anyway? XD Her voice makes her sound like she's eight or nine, but she definitely doesn't seem to have a body of a nine-year-old. XD;

Oh yeah. XD Gabriel was rather facinating in the movie . . .

Yah . . . I'm not really surprised either. --.--;

It'd better not. XP

I don't remember . . . I want to say 11 or 12, though that doesn't seem right either. @@

If you think about it, she's probably over 500 years old, since Gyumoah was sealed up 500 years earlier, and he's her father. Same with Kougaiji. But as for how old she's actually supposed to be, I have no idea. XD; Probably older than 10, I'm sure.

[identity profile] yaminah.livejournal.com 2005-08-04 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah. **feels the DUH! expression cross her mind rather loudly** I'm sure Kougaiji is probably at least pushing 700. Though physically he looks what? 24? As for Lirin . . . I really wanna say early teens/tweens.

^^! Yay! I'm so glad you liked the movie; I really love it myself. It does bring out a lot of Gojyo's good points. I thought it was sad that Houlan died, since she was the only female character on the show that I've ever thought a relationship would work with Gojyo.

Kougaiji's group is really cool, and I'm glad they at least got a mini part in the movie. XD

I love the English cast for Saiyuki far too much to want to watch it in Japanese, personally. XD;

I always have the same fear of losing interest in other things, but I've learned I've never truly lost interest in anything that I've loved. XD

True. ^^ I think I still love everything I ever did, save for maybe those old Warner Brothers shows like Tiny Toons and Animaniacs. And Looney Tunes. I still love the characters themselves, but I don't like the cartoons anymore. Same for Team Rocket on Pokémon.

Yeah, it was sad that Houlan died. **pats Gojyo.**
