SNOOOOOOOOOOOW!!
Blah. FINALLY I'm on!! I've been disconnected from the Internet for a couple of days now thanx to our phone company not fixing things forever >< I got cut off while talking to three people and I haven't even been able to get on to give them an explanation. Of course by the time I can post this in my LJ I had better be able to tell them. ^__~
The good news is: We're having a major snow storm! There's actually enough white stuff that it's worth playing in! **devil horns.**
While I've been Internetless, I've been writing and listening to the CDs I got for Christmas. I found a song that's a perfect theme song for me.
I linger in the doorway
Of alarm clock screaming
Monsters calling my name
Let me stay
Where the wind will whisper to me
Where the raindrops
As they're falling tell a story
In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me
Don't say I'm out of touch
With this rampant chaos---your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
The nightmare I built my own world to escape
In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me
Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming
Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights
Oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming
The goddess of imaginary light
In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me
That's totally my song. I live in my little Never NeverLand knowing exactly what I'm doing. I like angst and that sort of thing, but I also have to have my happy endings. Why should stories follow reality exactly? It's more fun to have everything work out in the end, always. At least there's someplace we can go where we know things will wind up happy no matter what has happened.
I also found a line in another song that I thought was kewl: "Don't try to fix me; I'm not broken." I've thought something along those lines many a time. XD Maybe I shall apply it to my portrayals of characters and the like. Again, I know exactly what I'm doing. I don't need to be scolded for it as if I'm marching around blindly XD
I do agree that my stories need more detail and description, but I don't always like describing physical surroundings. If I'm going to be detailed, I prefer it to be in the way of getting inside the characters' minds. That's much more fun for me than describing every little detail of the places the characters wind up at. I never liked drawing backgrounds, either. Or coloring them. It was the characters in the pictures I was (and am) interested in. That's what I enjoy drawing. And writing about. Not places.
I had a crazy dream Sunday morning that can be put to good use. I've already started writing a scene with it before I forget the major points.
And there was a fantasy type story I've been wanting to write too. My interest in it got rekindled again while listening to the Return of the King soundtrack and I got this killer idea for a scene near the climax! **starry eyes. Must write! MUST WRITE!!** Friend against friend! Brother against brother! Only much more intense than what happened in my lil short story fic from a while back!
I think I'm gonna get to go shopping for a bit later today to get a CD that Dad hadn't been able to find in time for Christmas. X3 While we're out, I wanna look at a Sailor Moon manga if I can find it: the one where Pluto sacrifices herself to free Rini from her Black Lady persona! *__*! That's just the kinda sweet thing I love to read about. I wish they hadn't changed that in the animé, and WHY THE HECK WON'T IT LET ME END THE SENTENCE HERE???!! **has tried three times and it keeps refusing to allow a period to be placed.*
