I am going out of my mind! I must get to a bookstore! XD;
Actually, I think I'll be getting to one today. Not sure if I'll be on or not....
And I had another dream that was worth something! This one has story possibilities. It involved the Monkees being captured and tortured by Oraculo. @__@; And Tony and his gang were working with him, for some bizarre reason. I don't think Oraculo would abduct and torture the Monkees, so if I did the story I would have to make the villain someone else, such as the mad scientist from I Was a Teenage Monster. And as for the angle with Tony and the others, I don't think they'd bother. If they were around, they'd have to have been brainwashed or something. In any case, that will be one strange and wacky Monkees dramedy, if I write it. XD;
I've also had the idea of doing a fic where Peter has amnesia. I got intrigued by the idea during the few minutes in The Case of the Missing Monkee when he didn't remember anyone. He acted awfully strange towards Micky, especially. "Take your hands off me! Do you know who I am? ... Wait, who am I?" And then when they gathered around him to try to scare him into remembering, he gave Micky and only Micky a very odd look. I just got the feeling that amnesiac Peter did not like Micky. XD; And that has definite story possibilities!
The actor Micky, BTW, was in that recent Love Bug TV movie that they made about nine years ago. For once I'm actually glad I kept the thing! I wanted to get rid of it, but Mom said that she had the feeling that I'd want it someday. So I ran through it earlier to see Micky's parts. XD He played a guy who acted like a jerk at first, but then showed that he wasn't such a bad guy. I love characters like that.
I also finally made lists of my top ten favorite Monkees episodes in each season.
Season One
#1. Episode 26, Monkee Chow Mein. Micky and Peter were so brilliant in it! There were so many funny parts and smart dialogue, and Dragonman is hands-down one of the best villains.
#2. Episode 25, Alias Micky Dolenz. You knew it was coming, right? XD; A Micky-centric episode. **purrs.** Plus, we meet some more of the best villains: Baby Face Morales and Tony Ferano. Gotta love 'em.
#3. Episode 17, The Case of the Missing Monkee. Peter's missing! Oh no! And what follows is a hilarious romp through the Remington Clinic as the Monkees tangle with spies. And we also get the most nonsensical mock operation scene possible! XD "I'm a doctor! Whaddya think I am, a plumber?!"
#4. Episode 28, Monkees On the Line. An episode featuring the Monkees as answering service operators and trying to find someone who's threatening to commit suicide, in addition to getting in trouble with a gambling ring. It doesn't get much better than this.
#5. Episode 12, I've Got a Little Song Here. Ohmygosh! Micky does so many impressions in this one. It would be worth it alone for that. XD;;; But no, the whole thing's great. Yay for the Monkees foiling the con artist's plot!
#6. Episode 11, Monkees a La Carte. The Monkees and the Mob. XD Need I say more? Peter's "confession" scene is sheer brilliance.
#7. Episode 2, Monkee See, Monkee Die. The Monkees monkey with the lawyer! The Monkees spend a night in a reputed haunted house! Micky and Davy play Sherlock Holmes and Watson! Micky demonstrates his brilliance in creating a shortwave radio! X3
#8. Episode 7, Monkees in a Ghost Town. I love how they smartly take jabs at Of Mice and Men. George and Lenny are two more of my favorite baddies. XD And Micky does his James Cagney impression for the first time as he pretends to be The Big Man! And the real Big Man is a woman, who sings off-key! "Bessie, do you know you can get the chair for this?!" "No, I don't think I remember that one...."
#9. Episode 8, Don't Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth. The beginning, in which confusion and mayhem ensue with Mr. Babbit, the veterinarian, and Mrs. Purdy is priceless comedy. XD And the second half, where the Monkees try to help the little boy keep his horse, is so cute!
#10. Episode 22, Monkees at the Circus. Another of those great episodes where they get into trouble while trying to help people. The "Mozzarella Brothers'" rehearsal scene is hysterical, especially when Peter and Mike are on the tightrope at the same time.
Season Two
#1. Episode 52, The Devil and Peter Tork. Hands-down, the most smart and beautiful episode of the season, and arguably the best episode of the entire series. Doing a Faust-themed episode was sheer brilliance, sheer brilliance I say! This episode, more than any other, demonstrates the proper way to mix comedy and drama.
#2. Episode 57, The Monkees Blow Their Minds. The Monkees tangle with a fake (?) mentalist. There's so much great dialogue here, and I've always been fond of the Valleri romp.
#3. Episode 36, Monkee Mayor. Another lovely dramedy. Yes, it's a bit cheesy in some parts with the crooked politicians, but's there also great dialogue and Mike's speech on TV at the end, which demonstrates what a great character he is. And Micky pretends to be the skeleton in the closet! LOL. And he just looks so COOL in that trenchcoat and fedora hat. The Monkees should have done a parody of detective film noir.
#4. Episode 33, It's a Nice Place to Visit. Davy is kidnapped by a jealous bandit and the other Monkees must save him! The banquet scene is just hilarious. XD "Let's have a toast to end all this drinking!" And then Micky gets challenged to a duel....
#5. Episode 45, Monkees in Texas. Micky and Peter shine again! They are brilliant here, simply brilliant, and hands-down the best scene is where Micky blows his cover as a vicious killer because "I can't kill him [Peter]! He's my best friend!" And parodying Westerns is always so much fun! XD They parody Bonanza here, among others.
#6. Episode 46, Monkees on the Wheel. In spite of the moments where Coslough Johnson's writing falters and Micky and Peter seem OOC, it's not as bad as in some of his other efforts. The Monkees steal the show when they pretend to be gangsters in order to break up a gambling ring! I just love when Micky and the Boss glare and growl at each other and suddenly start comparing James Cagney impressions!
#7. Episode 44, Hitting the High Seas. Surprisingly, I liked this. The scene where Davy runs into Captain Ahab, an Errol Flynn double, and Horatio Hornblower, as well as the part where Micky imitates the parrot, give it its ranking on the list.
#8. Episode 35, Everywhere a Sheik Sheik. "Golden Grecian goblets guarantee graves!" XD
#9. Episode 39, Hillbilly Honeymoon. I always used to like this one. Not so much anymore, but now I'm having trouble thinking of episodes to have on the favorites list for season two. XD; So it makes the cut.
#10. Episode 48, Fairy Tale. The Monkees parodying fairy tales and playing multiple characters, including females! XD I think all of them were seen in drag here, except Peter. And the deadpan Narrator.... "See the knights eat food. See them spill their food." Buwahaha.
Can you tell I'm an obsessed fangirl, especially over Micky? XD; I think it might be even worse this time around than it was when I was thirteen and fourteen.
I also have to admit that I think I'm crushing on Tony.... I tend to get overly fascinated by certain one-shot characters in different fandoms, and I think I like him because of his mysterious past as a police officer, and because he can just get so many darn funny expressions! This is him in my icon, demonstrating how unimpressed he is over the fact that Mike and Peter are going to try to blow up the fireplace. XD (And he had a right to be unimpressed.... Mike blew up the piano instead. XD Dang, after he blew up the desk instead of the safe in Monkees a La Carte, they should have learned their lesson and kept him away from explosives!)

Rocco: Blow!
Micky: ... **starts blowing up a balloon.**
Fuselli and Rocco: ... **stare at him, then at each other.**
Yeah, it looks like that's how it is with me, too. I'm going to be twenty this year, and here I am carrying on like a cooing middle school girl. LOL. Oh well, I at least have people who can relate!

Because I've kept mentioning them, Kent found the Monkees marathon tape and has been watching it a lot. XD I've caught bits and pieces of episodes so far, although, I'd like to sit down and watch some all the way through.

I'll have to show you a Season 2 episode guide and you can see if anything looks familiar. ^^
