That's actually true for me, too. My dad wanted me to learn the piano when I was seven or eight, but when I couldn't learn anything past melody lines, and I was getting the notes wrong, I gave up in frustration and didn't try again for years and years. So the Monkees definitely must be credited for my interest in the piano.
