I finally finished the Disney Castle fic! I really like how it turned out, too. X3 I also got a creepy scene written for Lily Valley, and I'm hoping to get it all done this next week. As well as chapter 8 of I Don't Feel Enough for You to Cry, and chapter 4 of To Bring You Back.

There's now an alternate Kaitou Kid in the RP with Aubrie, from the Freak Dimension. LOL. A place where someone seems to die every time it's visited. XD He's in the main dimension and will help to clear their Kaitou Kid's name. And then maybe the Freak Dimension will be revisited! **can do more with the alternate Baby Face, who's a zealous police officer.** XD

I made a new friend this past week. ^^ [livejournal.com profile] mein_requiem posted a terrific and fun Axel fic in [livejournal.com profile] key_blade a week or two ago. So much great Axel snark! XD We started an FF7 RP this past evening that takes place during Sunrise & Midnight, before the statue crisis. It involves Seph and Yuffie and is quite intriguing. XD I love throwing a couple of characters into a situation and see how they react. That's kinda how I do a lot of my KH fics, with the conversations and whatnot.

[livejournal.com profile] mein_requiem also made me an awesome Zack colorbar when she was making some colorbars. X3 She has a very unique style of putting them together! ^^ **got it up on her profile page.**

And here's a blurb that insisted on being written today. XD It takes place at the end of S&M, after the battle with Jenova and the usage of the modified Safer form and whatnot. It ended up turning into another possible scenario for Zack's and Aerith's restoration. **still hasn't decided what she'll do when she gets that far in the chronological writing of the series.**

This is version one of the blurb, and after talking to Lisa, I've decided there will be a second version, in which Cloud is delirious and Zack is taking care of him. X3

Cloud was not sure why he was running. And especially not why he was running so fast.

He could see Sephiroth up ahead, sprawled mostly on his left side and propping himself up with one hand. He was breathing heavily, his bangs plastered against his face. He looked incredibly drained.

Now that the battle was over, and Sephiroth was back on the grass, the massive golden halo had vanished. Or maybe that was because of how exhausted he was, and he could no longer keep the Safer form. But no, the six white wings were still there, on either side of his waist. The three on his right side had fallen across him, covering his loins and most of his legs. The three on his left side were stretched out across the grass.

The one black wing was lowering over his right shoulder, and he clutched at his side as if it pained him. He shuddered, falling flat on his back, his long hair spread out around him.

Cloud reached his nemesis then, crashing to his knees beside the other. "You're not going to die, are you?" he said irritably. "After all this. . . ."

Sephiroth looked up at him, smirking weakly. "Do I look like I'm dying, Cloud?" he retorted.

"Do you want me to answer that?"

Cloud muttered something under his breath, studying the green-eyed man's weakened body. They had all fought in the battle to eliminate Jenova, and had weakened her, though only when Sephiroth had tapped into and awakened a modified and more powerful version of his Safer form had he been able to seal her away. She could still come back sometime, he had said. He did not know if there was any way to actually destroy her, so the sealing away would have to be good enough for now.

The blond pulled off his left glove, placing two fingers to the base of Sephiroth's neck. His pulse was slowing, but not to normal speeds. It had gone beyond that, and still seemed to be going.

Cloud's eyes narrowed. "Yeah . . . you look like you're dying," he grumbled.

Sephiroth closed his eyes, sighing wearily. This form was extremely draining, and not solely because of the power needed to cast spells and to manipulate seven wings. It, similar to Chaos, struggled for control of his mind. He had embraced it before, bending it to his own will. He had done the same now, though it seemed as if it had become all the determined to not let him bend it. The entire time he had been fighting Jenova, he had also been fighting himself.

In his mind's eye, he could see the insane him watching from the flames of Nibelheim. Then he turned, disappearing into the inferno, his long hair streaming out behind him.

"There's a difference between then and now," he mused, thinking again of when he had used the original Safer form. "Now, I have a completely mortal body." And that had added to what had caused such weariness, he imagined.

"You also have a complete body," Cloud returned, half-sarcastically. The original Safer form, with its wings instead of legs, and the black wing merged with his right arm, had seemed utterly bizarre---though certainly not as much so as certain other enemies Cloud had faced.

"Heh. . . ."

Cloud watched him silently. Maybe he wanted to die. Maybe he wanted to go to where Zack was, and be with him. Maybe he would be happier there. Zack would certainly be happy. But what about Aerith? Cloud frowned a bit. No . . . after all this time, there would probably not be any problem. She had certainly forgiven him long ago, and he seemed to have proved that he could keep hold of his sanity now. But that did not mean that Cloud particularly liked the idea of Sephiroth staying where Aerith was.

Sephiroth opened his eyes again. They were glassy and unfocused.

Cloud felt the vaguest prick of fear. He did not want to be here, all alone with his nemesis, if the other perished. The reason why was not something he was entirely certain about, unless it dated back to his obsession over not being able to do anything to stop various people from dying. This was Sephiroth, though---his obsession should not extend to him. Still, Cloud could not deny anymore that he had felt exactly that way during the statue crisis.

"If you die, you'll just come back again someday," the blond muttered, still in that same half-sarcastic tone. "Why don't you save some time and just stay here for now?"

Sephiroth looked amused. "Are you saying you don't want me to die, Cloud?"

"No," Cloud snapped instantly. "I'm not saying that at all!" He certainly could not care less what happened to Sephiroth. He was just tired of never being able to get rid of him. And whether the other died or not, he would always be around in some way, even if only in Cloud's memories---and that could be just as real as having him sprawled on the grass in front of the blond. It was just something that Cloud was being forced to adjust to. Or so he told himself.

He did not want Sephiroth to die. . . .

He cursed the silver-haired man's ability to perceive his thoughts.

"Seph?"

Both looked to the direction of the familiar voice, a voice that meant so much to each of the rivals. Zack was there, walking over the grass.

Sephiroth looked up at his old friend, the bleariness in his eyes finally clearing somewhat. "Zack . . ." he rasped. Did this mean he was going to die? Had Zack come for him? Death this time would not be so bad, if so. . . .

Cloud watched him as well. "Are you here to take him?" he asked, voicing both his and Sephiroth's thoughts. He had not seen Zack since before the battle, when he had smiled seriously and wished Cloud and Sephiroth the best of luck.

Zack grinned, clapping a hand on Cloud's shoulder. "Nope!" he chirped, even as the blond flinched in sheer disbelief at his touch. "I'm here to stay, pals," he said, looking from one to the other before dropping to his knees beside them both. He took up Sephiroth's clammy hand, looking into his comrade's stunned eyes.

"Yeah . . . I've been given that second chance after all," he smiled, the joy obvious in his own eyes. "Both me and Aerith have." He looked at Sephiroth firmly. "No one's gonna die today, Seph. You're gonna make it."

Sephiroth was still trying to comprehend the other's restoration. It was too much for his tired mind to process. It was not just a vague energy that he could feel around his hand. It was flesh and bone. Zack was alive. . . . It was impossible, but it was true. It had to be true, unless he was hallucinating . . . or unless what he was really feeling was Zack gripping his spirit's hand.

"Just close your eyes now, buddy," Zack encouraged. "You need to rest."

"You're alive. . . ." The green eyes unwillingly fell shut, Sephiroth's hand going limp within Zack's own. The winged man's expression was peaceful, though confusion was definitely mixed in with it.

Cloud was still staring at Zack, his thoughts tumbling a mile a minute over each other. ". . . How?" he finally breathed. "How can you really be here . . . like this . . ." Slowly he reached out, gripping Zack's muscular shoulder. It was real . . . it felt completely real . . . and yet, it could not be. This has to be some kind of a dream. . . . Zack was dead, he had died saving Cloud. Cloud had seen it, he had not been able to do anything to stop it. He had had to bury Zack. . . .

Gently the brunet laid Sephiroth's hand back down, then slowly turned to face Cloud. Without warning, he glomped. "Oh man . . . I never thought I'd have the chance to do this again," he said softly, holding his shocked friend close. He smiled shakily. "I . . . I don't think I've fully adjusted to things yet myself. . . ."

It was real . . . it was truly real. This was not a ghost's hug. Suddenly Cloud's emotions overwhelmed him. He clutched at Zack, hugging him close as he shut his eyes tightly. A choked sob, held inside for years, finally broke free.

Neither was sure how long their reunion lasted; in light of the situation, and the need to get both Cloud and Sephiroth back home, it was not that extensive. But silent words had been spoken in their brotherly embrace---of how much they had missed each other, of how Cloud had blamed himself for Zack's death, of how Zack regretted the pain Cloud had suffered. And mostly, how indescribably joyous they both were over this turn of events.

Cloud looked away now, back to Sephiroth's unconscious form on the grass. "You say Aerith's back too?" he asked.

Zack nodded. "Yeah." He leaned over, checking his other friend's vital signs to make sure they had not dropped further. The large wings seemed to help somewhat in preventing shock, which was a relief. Poor Seph had been too worn out to even undo the Safer form. He needed help, and rest, and, well, clothes.

"Aerith's waiting back at the house," Zack smiled. "She thought maybe seeing both of us at once would be too overwhelming." For more reasons than one, he added silently.

He glanced back to Cloud. "Hey . . . have you got anything we could put around him for right now?" he asked. "We need to get him back before any more time goes by."

Cloud raised an eyebrow. "Does it look like I have anything?" he grumbled.

"What about your cape?" Zack asked, indicating the dark cloth Cloud was wearing around his waist. "I could put it around him, you know, to give him some dignity, as well as to keep him warm."

The blond rolled his eyes, but straightened up and began to undo the straps holding it in place. Then he dropped the cloth down on top of the wings that were currently covering Sephiroth's body. "Are we even going to be able to carry him back?" he muttered.

Zack gently moved the white wings away from Seph's lower body before carefully wrapping the cape around his hips as a kilt. "Yeah, I think so," he smiled. "Just don't trip on his wings and we'll be fine."

Draping Seph's arm around his shoulders, and sliding his own arm under the older man's back, the brunet eased his old friend upright. Slowly he began to lift him, feeling the limp weight slumping against him. With Cloud's help, they managed to stand up with Seph's body between them.

The blond glanced down, frowning in annoyance. "Easy for you to say," he muttered. "All of these wings are going to drag on the grass, except the one on his shoulder." And he could not help wishing that Sephiroth would have had enough strength to undo this form. The wings added extra weight, as well as being something he might accidentally step on. Carrying a strong man like Sephiroth was complicated enough without any additional problems.

"Just walk slowly," Zack encouraged.

"Do you really think I could walk fast while trying to support this guy?" Cloud returned.

Zack grinned. "Point taken."
