I figured out the main reason why I'm so at a loss for what to do with my Sailor Moon fic. And it mostly isn't because of the romance, surprisingly.

It seems like in every version of the story, there's one of the Generals whom I don't care for. In PGSM, it's still Nephrite (though I'm warming up just a bit; **is at Act 24**). In the anime, it's Zoisite. Female or male, I'm just not fond of the anime interpretation of the character. The Kunzite/Zoisite pairing has never done much for me, either, no matter which version of the anime I'm watching. **shrug.**

Here, then, is my dilemma. I would *rather* do the manga version of Kunzite and Zoisite's relationship, which is mentor/student, but keep Zoisite's extreme vindictive behavior from the anime, as well as possibly adding some of the mysteriousness of PGSM Zoisite. The vindictiveness is one of the things I dislike about anime Zoisite the most, yet I'd kinda have to keep that, since Nephrite/Naru is a major element of this fic. And ya know, Zoisite killed Nephrite and all that. After seeing Dark Mercury, it's easier to believe that even anime Zoisite could really be a nice person behind all the brain-washing.

Anyway, yeah. The storyline basically follows the anime, it's after StarS and all that. But I'd totally rather tweak things around where the Generals are concerned, and I'm sure anime purists would howl with rage. XD;

~~Then there's the fact that I'm liking PGSM better than the anime, and totally better the manga, but Nephrite/Naru did not happen in PGSM.~~

I actually kinda prefer Naru in the anime, though. She seems like she matured more, whereas in PGSM she's kinda just *there*, mostly swooning over guys or doing karaoke with Usagi. Well, she does that in the anime too, but then she grew up more. Actually, it was the whole Nephrite thing that did that, I think.

I guess my other interesting possibility would be to write PGSM, only have Nephrite/Naru happen. Though that would require a complete AU, if it takes place during the show (which it would have). And I'd need someone else to kill Nephrite, unless Zoisite completely flipped out.

~~It would really also require PGSM Nephrite becoming a bit more like his counterpart.... XD;~~

I really wanted this fic of mine to be mostly animeverse, though.... And yet the PGSM girls are so much more interesting to me.... XD;

**headdesk.** It's so fun having all these different versions of the story, yet it's a nightmare when it comes to fic-writing and you wanna incorporate things from different versions. I may never be able to sort out what I want to do (and how to do it without having tomatoes thrown at me by purists).

In other news, I totally claimed Nephrite/Naru at

30_nights because the themes fit the tragic pairing so perfectly. XD; And now I'm wondering how I'll write much of it because Nephrite is a bit hard for me to grasp. I do like how he came out in the third chapter of this fic I'm puzzling over, though. So maybe there won't be a problem. His awkwardness around Naru, once he starts to realize his true feelings, is so adorable. X3

And you know, I do love how the Sailor Moon novels seem to try to fit anime and manga events fit, in some ways. The writer totally alluded to the Generals' being Mamoru's protectors before the brain-washing! In one scene, Nephrite tells Naru a bit of something he remembers from a long-ago past. That was so made of win.

I finally advanced with the chapter of Angels Among Us, too. I think I'm almost ready to shift to the next day, where Seph will talk to Sun about the mystery in the daytime before the get-together. X3 Which is a very good thing, as I was stuck after the dinner table scene for a few days.

And! I made additions to Jenova Corp Shooting. X3 I'll proofread again, but I think it's almost ready to go up.
