I'm still hoping to gather up plot points for that angsty h/c pre-Nibelheim fic, but meanwhile, a general/humor fic insisted on being written. XD Concept is ... well, look at my icon. I'm terribly amused by how it came out. I tried to figure out one of the seven deadly sins I could file it under to meet the weekly challenge, and the only one I could think of was "Sloth", and that was stretching it. Sephiroth comments that the other SOLDIERs have too much time on their hands if they're sitting around gossiping falsely about him and Zack. But one other entry was more vague on the sin, elaborating it as "Giving Into Temptation", so I added in my post that the main sin was Gossip.
It wasn't as sad/melancholy writing pre-Nibelheim as I thought it'd be. But maybe that's because I know that in my timeline, there's still hope for their friendship following Dirge of Cerberus. **pets Twilight and Dawn.**
I have an official name for the sequel now. I want to call it Sunrise and Midnight, continuing the time of day theme. Those are also both titles of volumes of first season Magic Knight Rayearth DVDs/videos, too. "Midnight" is because of Cloud's struggles with his inner darkness, which begin in T&D and get more intense in S&M. "Sunrise" is because he eventually, finally gets some relief from those feelings.
I finally changed the "Character 1" thing at FF.net to "Cloud" for T&D. He and Seph are really the main characters, I'm finding. (Previously, I'd listed Reno as Character 1.)
Chapter 5 had lots of things happen and lots of people meet. XD I'm still trying to determine the events of chapter 6. I know I want Cloud coming home to prepare for the dinner, and Sephiroth wondering what to say to him, as at this point, he has maybe 35% to 50% of his memory back, and Cloud still remembers nothing. And then I want to show the dinner, too. I need to figure out what Reno and Yuffie do, and how and when Reeve and Cait Sith show up, and whatnot.I also want to show a flashback or two of Cloud and Sephiroth conversing at the company, and perhaps when Sephiroth first decided to take Cloud as his assistant. But I really wanna try to keep things balanced between all the characters.
I decided that since Sephiroth has such a time of it in S&M, I should probably leave out the part in T&D where Jenova leaves him comatose for a while. Aside from the fact that too much Sephiroth h/c in the series might be unbelieveable/overkill, I want there to be much more of a shocked feeling when Jenova freezes him in stone. For it to be more intense, he probably should not have been seriously injured before by Jenova. I am going to keep her temporarily getting control of him and wrecking havoc somewhere, though, perhaps following her at least causing him to pass out for a short time, as Aubrie suggested.
And per Stacey's suggestion, I decided that Rude will not remember until S&M. Any ideas on how he finally does remember? XD;Should I go for the cheesy, yet angst-filled scenario of Reno being hurt? **imagines him grinning weakly up at Rude and saying something Reno-ish.**
I started writing the Kadaj-tachi fic, which will probably use the scenario of Yazoo being mistaken for Kadaj and hurt when it was Kadaj the person wanted. It's moving very slowly right now. XD It opens with a Yazoo monologue, and then Loz comes and talks to him for a bit, and then the thief is supposed to attack.
And I've been debating over posting this short blurb, but I think I will. It's mostly an exercise, an attempt at exploring Cloud and Sephiroth having a civil conversation during S&M. I also have another blurb that I'm not quite done with yet, which takes place on the night that Cloud frees Sephiroth and brings him back. Hopefully I'll get it posted later today.
