Quick stuff

Finally finished the Yazoo fic. I also got hit in the head with a random Zack h/c plunnie. XD So both of those are up now.

Is Zack's Japanese voice in AC the same voice as in Crisis Core? For some reason, I didn't think his AC voice suited him so much, and yet I like his voice in the Crisis Core trailers. If it is the same guy, maybe he was still settling into the role during AC and that's why it didn't quite grow on me there....

I watched that amusing AMV again where Axel and Demyx sing You Can't Keep a Good Dog Down. XD And I still wonder if they would get along well.

I think chapter 2 of Just a Simple Mission is almost done. X3 Maryn has been introduced, the warden's house is toured, and there's a dinner conversation. Sephiroth wants to investigate a couple of things in the house later, when the guy's asleep. Should that go into chapter 3? I'm thinking Yes. It might make chapter 2 seem too cluttered/stretched, if I try to put it there.

FF.net is being idiotic again! I dropped in to my page, and not only are my two recent fics not in existence according to them at the moment, Just a Simple Mission has 0 reviews and my other pre-Nibelheim thing has 2. I hope they fix that soon. -.-; If all else fails, I did post both fics directly on the mako_reactor comm, as that's one of their rules.

Just a Simple Mission, I've been musing, is a mystery fic. But it's an experiment in seeing how far I've come since my YGO mysteries. JASM moves fairly slowly (at least now), like T&D does, and yet there are plot advancements in each chapter. T&D still uses the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys influence of ending most chapters with something surprising. JASM has chapters end with everything seemingly normal, though as it goes on, there will definitely be a shocker or two for chapter ends.

I think JASM may be, in part, more of a psychological thriller, as a lot of the plot advancement involves character studying and conversations, and strange twists that won't always especially involve action. I used to dislike that style, thinking it wasn't exciting. Hence, I didn't appreciate either Vertigo or Spellbound. But I've since come to realize that those films are masterpieces and evidence of Hitchcock's genius. X3 I don't claim to think I could ever write something comparable to his movies, but I'm definitely wanting to dabble in the style of the above-named films.

I've been considering having an actual murder later in the fic, one of the villagers, and Zack is accused. Either that, or else they really are fighting and he has to kill the person in self-defense, but he's charged with murder. And since they're out in the desert, and communication has been cut off, Sephiroth can't call to the Shinra Company for help. So then Zack is taken and thrown in the Dismal prison.

Of course, he wouldn't be there long. XD By this point, Dismal has revealed what they think of the "Shinra dogs" and the warden probably says to Sephiroth that he'll still release Zack, if either Sephiroth stays in his place as a hostage to barter with Shinra, or else if both of them are used that way. And if Shinra won't give in to their demands, both Sephiroth and Zack will be killed to show that Dismal won't stand for interference from Shinra any longer. Sephiroth doesn't agree to the demands, of course, and has to figure out what to do on his own.

Meanwhile, Zack is trying to get out of the prison, and learns that most of the prisoners there have weapons and are ready to go to battle against Midgar and Shinra. They hate him, and would kill him right then, if it wasn't that the warden wants to use him as a bargaining chip.

Thoughts? **is trying to figure out exactly what Sephiroth might try to do.** He wouldn't be able to talk to Zack, so they'd have to do things separately and independent of each other. Maybe he would try to turn the tables and take the warden hostage instead? And meanwhile, Zack's attempting a prison break....
