Wowie. XD I have Just a Simple Mission finished now. And some of the chapter lengths make my jaw drop. One is around 9,010 words, and another, 8,278. And those two were written pretty much in two days, one for each day. I wish I could have that much inspiration for my doppelganger fic! In seven chapters, JASM ended up being 42,000+ words. I previously used to achieve that with 20 chapters on my YGO mysteries.

Last week I was working on the fic when Last Order hit me in the head again. That OVA is so saaad, for everybody! Seph loses his mind, Zack loses his friend, Cloud loses his, as well, since Zack dies. Tifa loses her father.... Anyway, that made me wanna do a fic post-AC where Zack is expressing his regrets to Aerith about what happened to Seph, and wondering if he should have tried harder to save him. I decided the fic idea was depressing, too, so I filed it away for a couple days in order to concentrate on JASM.

On Tuesday it came back, and it had mutated. It made me want to also do a part with Sephiroth having a monologue, struggling against his madness. And somehow that morphed into an idea where Zack receives a message from the sane Seph and realizes that there still is hope. So then he sets out to find him and help him. But Seph's dark side doesn't want to see that happen. He torments Zack with all kinds of illusions and mazes and traps. When Zack gets pasts them all, he has a long battle with Seph.

I have to say, I'm kinda looking forward to writing for the insane Seph in this context, the same way I like writing Alister gone nuts. I find them both interesting and intriguing villains (Marik, too), even though my preference is for them to be protoganists.

Anyway, chapter 1 of that just went up now. XD I have no idea if I'll even get ideas for it very fast. I kinda think not. I want to get back to T&D, too, and explore Cloud and Seph's relationship some more. But the darn plunnie wouldn't shut up! Anyone got any ideas for the kinds of obstacles Seph can throw in Zack's path?

I left JASM open, too, for a possible sequel/follow-up involving the hostage situation on the train. It would be further complicated by the fact that Seph must keep his left arm in a sling for at least a couple weeks due to the collarbone injury.

EDIT: I really hope I didn't do the wrong thing by posting the AU fic chapter. XD I quickly tacked on a note that I don't know if I will be continuing it, because of preferring my T&D universe. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm so confused. On the one hand, I prefer the idea of Seph getting a second chance, and getting his sanity back and whatnot through the T&D universe. I really like his interaction with Cloud in that verse. But on the other hand, Zack is dead in that verse and it doesn't seem the same to bring him and Aerith back as it does Seph and Kadaj-tachi. Sometimes I wanna bring him back to life, but in the end I don't think it would be a good idea, since he and Aerith died for specific reasons and whatnot that were important to the main storyline.

So it's either have Seph stay dead post-AC and interact with Zack that way, or have Seph restored to life and Zack stay a ghost, but still interact with both Seph and Cloud. I can't win. XD

Being so attached to a character who dies is really not a good thing.

Oh well, there's still the Kingdom Hearts verse, where the KH Zack can liiiive!
