The more I watch Carmen episodes, the more I'm starting to think that the Office sketch of doom was not what turned me off. I know there was a rough spot for a while, but I must have gotten over it (even though I never got over my horror at the sketch itself). I present the evidence:
1. The sketch happened in season 1, to my shock. (I actually discovered that both of the really disturbing Office sketches were season 1.) Season 1 episodes never aired after season 2 started, because they had become geographically incorrect due to the breakup of the Soviet Union. And since the show's purpose was to teach geography, they couldn't have incorrect information airing. XD
2. Season 2 is my favorite. Always has been, always will be.
3. I know I watched a good deal of season 3, if not all of it. I distinctly remember things such as Greg's new hair (and feeling bad he cut it XD;) and the weirdness of the digital Chief traveling with them to the jailtime challenge. I also am almost *positive* that I saw some of the later season 3 episodes, especially The Sleaze Who Stole the Subway. The can-can sequence with the skirts is brain-breaking, and I am certain I saw that when it first aired and hoped my dad wouldn't come in and see it. XD
4. I revisited the show in its final season, probably when I was watching Wishbone, which I discovered after Thanksgiving in 1995. I have definite memories of seeing them sing the Up On the Roof parody about trolls. I think my thought process went like this: "Oh wow, look, this show's still on. Oh hey, it's the guys! ♥ Squee! There's Sean, and Scott, and Elliott, and Barry.... Who's that fifth guy? Where did he come from?" I also *know* I saw the very last episode, though I'm not sure I knew it was the last. I distinctly remember the stuff with the clowns (which I didn't like. **Is not a clown fan.** I'm not afraid of clowns, I just don't like them much. XD), and the ending with the braid-cutting ... I totally remember seeing that. My thought process there was basically "Nooo, not the braids! ;__;"
5. At some point, probably around 2000, I saw one of the computer games in a store. It was one that had the Chief (I think it was the USA one), and I actually considered buying it. I think the only reason I didn't was because my computer didn't have the requirements.
Heaven knows why I decided the disturbing Office sketch is what ended everything. I felt like giving it all up then, and it took me a long time to get over it, but I must have. There's no other explanation.
I think the real reason I quit was because season 3 started getting really far-out sometimes. LOL. And the show's always been wacky, but some things in season 3 rubbed me the wrong way. (Like the can-can sequence, and the whole first half of Bad Woman Steals Goodman, and some others.) I think season 2 had the perfect level of wackiness right there. X3 **hugs season 2.** And I do want to say, season 3 has many classic episodes as well as many odd ones. XD All the seasons have good episodes; there's one in season 4 that I think ranks among the top 10 (or at least top 20) episodes overall: You Ain't Nothin' But a House Thief. Sarah Nade steals Graceland and hides it in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood! LOLOLOL. That is all kinds of wrong! I *love* that one. (And at the end, Sean and Barry do a different part of the can-can dance with Greg, where they link arms and kick their legs in the air, like the Monkees did in the second season opening of their show. XD Classic!)
