**rubs eyes.**
Nov. 15th, 2010 02:30 am... I'm getting really tired of seeing the ads for Sekirei all over LJ. It looks sick.
Bleeeeh I don't know what to do with my mystery fic. I think I either need to forget it or change some things in the first chapter before I put up either of the others I have done. I've been frustrated with it since Saturday. Sleeping on the problem didn't change my feelings, so something really must need to be done.
Originally there was no picture, just rumors. I added the picture because I thought it would give Fakir a stronger case. Fakir did not automatically think something strange was going on; he tried to rationalize, but was eventually influenced by everyone else talking about it, as well as by a couple of memories of Autor teasing him. I was still told by someone that she felt Fakir was OOC.
Now, honestly, going by anime canon alone, I don't think he is. Going by my timeline, maybe he is. Would he really be so heavily influenced by the rumors and the picture this far into the timeline, when he's already said he trusts Autor and hasn't seemed concerned by him and Ahiru doing things together? Granted, a photograph of them in a jewelry store would be surprising, but still. Would Fakir really flip out like he did? He's even called Autor part of the family.
I could alter it so he doesn't get mad, and instead just calmly asks Autor about it. But if he wasn't already mad, I don't think Autor would have got mad. He might have been slightly clipped, and still felt somewhat hurt at being asked, but I doubt he would have responded as harshly as he ended up doing because of Fakir's anger. Plus, if there was no argument, there goes one of the main elements of the fic.
Should I leave it as is? Is it okay, even this far into my timeline? Should I try to figure out something else to fuel Fakir's anger? Ladyamberjo suggested actually showing the dialogue from when Autor was telling Fakir that Ahiru is beautiful; why couldn't someone other than Fakir realize it? I could do that, but this far into the timeline, would even that work? In the original source, Fakir accepted it when Autor said he wasn't saying that because he had a romantic interest in Ahiru.
Aurgh, what should I do....
