It always happens like this.
Sep. 13th, 2011 09:50 amI declared my Perry Mason fic officially concluded yesterday, after many additions to certain chapters and finally tidying up the epilogue for the final time.
And I will be writing another one. But it looks like it won't be either of the ideas I already had in mind. Instead it seems that it will be called The Case of the Abducted Attorney, or something similar. It will involve a vindictive creep taking Perry prisoner. Hamilton Burger and Lieutenant Tragg will join Della and Paul in a race against time to find him.
It came to me while watching The Wild Wild West. I know I've done somewhat similar stories for other fandoms (probably Good Luck and Goodbye comes the closest), but each fandom always brings a new perspective on the topics. And this story has the potential for so many interesting things going on: Mr. Burger trying desperately to find Perry, interacting with Della and Paul, Perry in extended life-threatening danger....
Also, today the Sailor Moon manga begins to be reissued, and the U.S. gets Sailor V manga for the first time! It's awesome. I probably won't be buying either volume right now, though. Barnes and Noble's prices seriously make me flinch. I have been buying in bulk on Amazon lately, and I'll likely continue to do that. I need the next Darkwing graphic novel, too.
I'll be seeing Borders one last time this week before they close their doors for good. I'll probably take a couple of pictures. Last week I was finally able to buy something at their liquidation sale. This week I may buy something else, if it's still available. But in any case, we just want to see it once more. Ever since it first appeared in my state, it was my favorite place to buy books. Oh, I just can't stop cringing at the thought of paying full-price for books at Barnes and Noble. I'm almost certain that with Borders gone, I'll be buying almost exclusively on Amazon. Score another one for the digital age.
