Well, somehow I've been managing to keep up with the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days themes. Just barely. I had to mostly set aside working on multi-chapters for the month, although I did manage to update two of them.

My current Perry mystery, The Denying Detective, will probably be a bit short compared to some of the others. But I do have future ideas. I still don't know if I'll be bringing Lux Aeterna to FF.net and fleshing it out into a real multi-chapter saga, but I may do something involving a main character and a double after all.

I had an idea a long time ago about Hamilton having a nasty double who causes chaos and gets Hamilton into trouble, but I abandoned that idea after learning of and watching The Dead Ringer. The show has also featured doubles for characters a couple of other times (once for one of Perry's fill-ins!). But I don't think they've ever had an episode where both the main character and the double are good guys.

I watched the uncut Impatient Partner episode this morning. It was nice to see it in full, although there were not any other scenes with Wesley Lau, as I'd hoped. But I realized anew how fond I am of Amory Fallon. And I had an idea to do a fic where someone is after either Amory or Andy, and one or the other of them is injured when the criminal meant to get the other. But the other is found and taken eventually.

I'm testing the idea in an RP, with Andy being supposedly found hurt and unconscious in the park, minus any ID. When he revives in the hospital several hours later, however, it's Amory, not Andy. And that means Andy is missing. He's been taken by whoever was responsible for striking Amory.

I'll probably do it that way, with Andy as the abducted party, but I'm not sure if he was the intended target or if it was Amory. Amory's already had so much trouble with creeps in his company. But Andy's had trouble in one of my fics with Vivalene trying to kill him. So I guess it's a toss-up.

And I'll need a title. I'm already pondering on nice alliteration. Most Perry titles have it (though not all), and it's a fun and amusing challenge to try to come up with some. I think I've used it for all of my Perry mysteries, except The Broken Ties.
