Five days? Really?
Apr. 3rd, 2014 06:12 pmSo I wanted to buy a movie. In order to get a new copy, I had two options: Buy from a place I've bought from several times before and had good experiences with, or buy from a place I don't recall buying from before.
The positive feedback for the place I know generally ranges from 96% to 99%, depending on the website. On this website, it was 99% and the other place was 98%. Since I've always had good experiences with the one, I decided I should go with them again instead of trying a place with which I was unfamiliar.
I'm wondering if I made a mistake. It took them FIVE DAYS to ship. I don't recall that happening before. Since I ordered on Friday, I figured the absolute latest they would ship would be Monday. Sometimes I've even known them to ship on Saturday. But so apparently it just went out yesterday instead.
They seem to be using a place that ships mail very quickly, at least; if it's the same place they always used, I would often get packages from them within three days. What I don't remember is if that was three days after shipping or three days from the order date. I think I always got my packages within a week of ordering.
I really wanted to have the movie no later than this Saturday, but since the place will turn the package over to the Post Office for actual home delivery, I doubt that's likely to happen. I'll probably be lucky to get it Monday.
I just hope it's the right movie. There's two with the same blasted title. I bought it off the page for the version I wanted, so hopefully they're efficient enough to send the right one.
And then working on the next piece for my song challenge, I was supposed to make it a lot angstier and sadder than it looks like it's going to be. Maybe I still will get it darker, but since Ginger already feels so awful about what happened and considers that he failed to protect Mike for Lou, it would probably be way too sad to have Mike take an even sharper turn for the worse, even though either way the story would eventually end happy.
I don't know; I'm really having a lot of trouble making most things get dark lately. I just don't seem to be in the mood. More than ever before, I'm going for other story-telling options. Several plotlines I used to write with ease for other fandoms I just can't bring myself to have an interest in now.
