Oh snap. What timing, Build-a-Bear!
Sep. 20th, 2014 09:21 pmSo Build-a-Bear sent me a coupon last night to get $12 off a plushie. Which ... basically means half off of the $25 plushies! **starry eyes.**
But it's only good through next weekend, so I can't use it for my birthday shopping spree. And I can't pass up a deal like this. Which means I'll have to ask Dad if he'll take me this coming week. He's not going to like that, especially since I also want to go out on my birthday the week after that. Gah.
Also a problem is that I can't decide who to get. I had just been thinking how nice it would be to get Applejack and Applebloom. I want Applebloom on my birthday, but I knew I couldn't get Applejack too and pay full price for her. Now I have a chance to get her half-off.
But ...
Build-a-Bear also has Turtles plushies. I still want a Raph plushie. I quibbled before about not wanting to pay $25 for one of their Turtles, since there's cheaper and bigger plushies of them elsewhere. But to get one at $13-ish ... that is definitely worth considering. I'm willing to pay $25 for a Pony plush if there's no way of getting a discount, but I absolutely do not want to pay $25 for a Turtle.
I suppose the only real way to decide is get to the store and look at them up close and personal. Just looking on the website isn't good enough. Although I heard some strange thing about the Turtles plushies having removable shells? I'm not sure I'd like that; shells are not supposed to be removable. If I liked the plushie enough, though, I'd probably deal with it.
Then I even thought of possibly getting Pinkie. She's not my favorite character by far, and she's gone even farther down on my list after season 4, but I do love the Build-a-Bear plushie. Last Christmas, when I was restuffing Fluttershy, I saw Pinkie on a display shelf and longed really bad to be able to buy her right then and thereand then be carrying two Ponies around with me all that day!, but I just didn't have the money.
I also heard that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are going to be retiring soon and going online-only, and I wonder if I'll regret not getting Rainbow if she goes out-of-print. But I want just about everyone else before Rainbow, so I'm not seriously considering buying her with my coupon.
I already have a full Funrise set of the Ponies, so I have a small Applejack, but I had wanted the Build-a-Bear Applejack too. But I don't have any Raph plush, and ... it's all such an impossible decision to make from home!
