So season 3 of Granite Flats went online over the weekend. Apparently they're holding off airing it on TV until October. I'm guessing this is because the last episode has a Christmas scene, and airing in October will mean that the last episode will air in December.

We watched the episodes on Dad's newer laptop, which can load the videos from that website without problems. And squeeeee, so much George, just like I was hoping! And let's say I am very satisfied with how his character turned out.

Granite Flats is a really good show, overall. It's a period piece, in the early 1960s, and involves a lot of Cold War and spy stuff. One of the most interesting things about it is how it shows that even when the spies are the "good guys", they have to do a lot of terrible things at times. It gets into how they deal with their feelings over what they have to do and how others react and how damaging secrets can be.

Season 1 is mostly flat-out spy and mystery stuff. By season 2, they seemed to be trying a lot harder to make it partially into a soap opera. Season 3 follows that same pattern, but the spy stuff is so intense that I'll forgive them the soap opera. At least, unlike most soap operas, it's clean, and sometimes when it looks like it might be about to go down a not-so-clean path, it doesn't.

The characters are very well-rounded, both good and bad. Sometimes it's not always easy to say who is what. It's a very intelligent show, a thinking show, and I've found it satisfying to watch, even if I don't always like the directions certain plot twists take. I've found season 3 a lot more satisfying than season 2, that's for sure.
