ladybug_archiveI guess I'm not the only one who considers Schrank a favorite character. http://www.totalfilm.com/features/50-coolest-movie-cops/west-side-story-1961 They made a mistake about his accent (it's Brooklyn, not Jersey!), but that's a minor quibble here.
And that fic is on the move again. I realized maybe I was trying to usher the plot too fast (I'm still trying to figure out how to slow down the first scene). I also realized that if I didn't do a Krupke monologue, I was wasting a great opportunity for something interesting, since I could have him muse on Schrank, how long he's known him, etc. So I've started writing that. And now Krupke is having an encounter with Anybodys, who showed up to check on things because Ice is worried about how Schrank being shot will fare for them and the other street gangs in Manhattan who didn't have anything to do with it. I can't say this fic will ever get done; it's certainly far from it right now. But it's still encouraging that it's actually moving.
In the amnesia fic, I debated back and forth over whether Tony should fire Kolchak in chapter two or three. I finally went with two. The majority of the story happens after that (and Kolchak and Tony will have several more encounters).
