Actually, serious Monkees fics used to be very common. Ah, tis a pity you weren't a fan during the big website boom of the early 2000s. Most of those sites are gone now. Although some can still be accessed through the Wayback Machine....

Yeah, most people probably don't give David a second thought. But I tend to pounce any time I see a minor character who has close ties to one of the main ones. The bikers were getting at least some attention, but I do think I may have poked some people into writing them (in addition to you)....
