Re: the Sherlock news - it's still strange to me to see fandom making headlines and the creators/actors/etc addressing the fandom, talking about shipping/using shipping names, etc. Increased social media usage has really changed fandom because I'm so used to being locked off in our own little world with our own fic and discussions without the original authors and actors having knowledge of it. And now people are making money from novels based off their fan fic by changing names and stuff - it's just strange to witness and hear of. :O
Even hearing of that One Direction band and their fandom, people making up shipping names, shipping real people, and being so into it to the point of delusion...
