http://www.side7.com/cgi-bin/S7SDB/Display.pl?act=image&iid=324703 Vermouth, being her typical flirtatious self. XD Still gotta draw that picture of her teasing Gin and Vodka about Bourbon's claims.

I also had an image floating in my mind of a teenage Ayumi meeting up with Gin again. I didn't draw that, because I didn't have the shot from The Countdown to Heaven on hand where Ayumi had that experimental picture of what she might look like in ten years, but I did start writing a blurb based on it in my notebook. XD; It's turned into a follow-up to Empire of Dirt, and takes place five years after the events in that. Ayumi is 17, and she meets a wounded Gin on the street. They start talking, and Ayumi insists on tending to Gin's injuries. She's training to be a doctor, she says. And Gin ends up stymied by her again. XD I don't know if I'll finish writing it, but it's rather interesting.

I also wrote a little more of chapter 8 of Evil Never Dies. I don't know why I'm having so much trouble with that chapter. Part of me wants to keep writing that story, and another part wants to end it and continue the misadventures in a third one.

I finished the prologue for my Dr. Portman fic and posted it. I've decided to call it Breakdown. Breaking Benjamin again, and it works too well. XD; And I will be telling two stories throughout the fic instead of having one long stretch of flashbacks. It will be kinda like Ghosts, with a story in flashbacks interspersed throughout, only the flashbacks will be longer and more connected to each other. Chapter 1 will start by telling what led up to Gin's capture, and then go back to the present to see how he's currently dealing with things, and then flash back again, etc.

This is going to be a hard fic to write, for several reasons. In the flashbacks, I'll have to write Gin descending into madness, and what leads up to that (and I'll have to do some hard thinking to come up with stuff that would result in him ending up like he is in the prologue!), and in the part of the story that takes place in the present, I'll have to show the results of his treatment. He'll still be not really sane, and he's very angry, and pushing people away. And Vodka's trying to stay sane himself while trying to figure out how to help his partner. And I imagine at some point, Vermouth will turn up. XD

And the Hong Kong subtitles aren't as wonky on The Countdown to Heaven as they are on the eighth movie. XD Yay for subtitles that make sense!

Hyuu~! I really love how that turned out! X3 I think Gin's hand looks fine actually! And I particularly like how Vermouth's face and hair came out! The pose is somewhat awkward, it still works.

The mental image of an older Ayumi and Gin does make me curious. Ahhh . . . the days of being able to write in a notebook. LOL

Writing people falling into madness is so much fun. >3

Were the subtitles really broken/bad English or were they just difficult to read? XD

Yay! XD Hoo boy, if Gin had woken up at that point....

I should type up what I've written. ^^ It was pretty interesting. Ayumi's still nuts about him and still calls him Gin-sama, but you can also see that she's growing up.

Indeed, as sadistic as that sounds. XD; It's also difficult sometimes. **is trying to figure out exactly how Portman would break someone like Gin.** It would definitely be harder with him than some of her other victims. You got any suggestions? **has some ideas, but is definitely open to others.**

Bad English. XD Often broken too, and sometimes just weird. Kaitou Kid was translated as Robber Jider. **snerk.** But oh well. The bad subtitles are worth it to own a physical copy of the film. ^^ I am glad that The Countdown to Heaven has better subtitles, though.

Aniki was translated as "boss" this time around. XD **definitely likes the "bro" translation best.**

I actually can't think of much of anything at the moment. Though repeated failure sounds like something that'd wear him down . . . Maybe hallucinating repeatedly about failing missions? **shrugs**

I actually read in notes about Vodka somewhere that "aniki" is used to gangsters that are higher in ranking. I don't know how accurate that is, but I found it interesting.

Yeah, that's along the lines of what I was considering. ^^

Yep, that's how it's used, and how I figure he means it. XD But I just think "bro" is a more interesting translation, used to refer to the higher-level "brothers" in the Japanese Yakuza.

**snerks and suddenly thinks of a Big Brother program within the Black Organization**

**snerk.** Oh that's priceless.

Once I saw it translated as "Brother Gin", but that makes me think of a monastery. XD That was in the translation of the mailroom scene.
