First, art. http://www.side7.com/cgi-bin/S7SDB/Display.pl?act=gallery&aid=3749 Two pics of FF7 Seph and Zack, and a KH Cloud, the latter of which I'm particularly pleased with. XD **will color it soon.**

I ended up doing the KH blurb, about the aftermath of the penalty game between Yami Marik and Seph, with Cloud and Zack as the human shields. Yami M is never mentioned by name, but it was definitely him. And I can't get anything else to come out on the S&M one, so here it is too. XD;

Angst first!

Send Heartless Angel.

It's my strongest attack. I use it without mercy in battles, to bring them to a swift close by dealing out immense damage to my opponents.

I never wanted to use it now.

You're laying so still in my arms, your head and neck hanging backward unnaturally. Your lavender eyes are closed, never to open again. Your expression is pained, and your clothes are torn; your body is limp and lifeless.

I killed you.

I never would have tried to hurt you, in spite of the situation we were dragged into, if you had not insisted. You said that you would try to remain alive, no matter what I sent at you---but that I had to attack you in order to defeat the demon who imprisoned us in this penalty game. He was using you as his shield, and forced Cloud to be my own. That way, no matter who triumphed, one of the human shields would be the one to actually perish---not the devil and not myself.

It ensured him a certain victory, even if he lost the fight. Maybe he even wanted to lose, because he knew if he did, it would only be because I delivered the fatal assault upon you. More than anything else, he wanted to cause emotional and mental anguish.

"SEPHIROTH!"

Cloud is coming toward me, leaning heavily on his right leg. One of his eyes is closed, as the blood runs across it. His clothes are ripped, his wing hanging limply from his left shoulder. He has been injured, but he will recover. I would rather that he was dead instead of you. But you would never want that.

The blue eye that's open is filled with pain, heartache, and sheer hatred---but it isn't directed at the monster who instigated this disaster. As he comes closer, he clutches at my arm, attempting to tear it away from your body.

"Let go of him!" he screams. "You're the one who did this! You let him die!" He pulls viciously, collapsing to his knees in front of me. He isn't in any condition to take your form. And I don't feel worthy to do so myself. But I hold onto you in spite of my feelings.

I should not have listened to you. I tried not to, choosing instead to allow the battle to progress for what may have been hours as I struggled to think of a different solution. But there was none. And as Cloud continued to be hurt worse, you grew all the more insistent and panicked. You demanded that I hit you with everything I could, to end the penalty game before Cloud would die.

I don't know how I will live with this result. Though, if I had let Cloud be killed to save you, you would have been in agony. It's selfish of me to ever think of permitting it to happen. But I'm certain he also wishes that I had done so.

Or perhaps mostly he wishes that I had been the shield and he the one to make the decision. Then he could have chosen to have me killed. Though, you would not have wanted that either.

There was not a correct solution to this dilemma. At least one of us would have suffered no matter which of us was sacrificed. But that truth does not lessen the weight on my heart.

I never wanted to use my powers to kill my only friend.

I am almost positive Seph's attack in KH2 is "Send Heartless Angel", though I've heard that some people think it's "Sin Harvest." Or is that one only in KH1?

"Sephiroth!"

The silver-haired man paused. He had heard the running footsteps a moment before the door had opened and Cloud had screamed his name. He did not speak now, or even turn around. Instead he waited for Cloud to say what he wanted.

"You're leaving, aren't you."

He gave a barely obvious shrug. "There's not any reason for me to stay. You know that, Cloud. Jenova has been sealed away. For now, the danger has passed." He glanced over his shoulder, seeing the blond standing in the doorway and gripping at the wooden frame. "I doubt any of your friends, or you, want me to remain."

"Of course not." Cloud glowered.

"And there's nothing more you can learn from me." Sephiroth shook his head slowly. "You should try to fully grasp what I've already tried to teach you."

"I didn't say I was thinking about that. I'm not."

"Heh."

Cloud was silent a moment. "Where will you go?" he asked.

Sephiroth shrugged. During his previous time of wandering, he had been almost everywhere. Usually he had stayed at hotels, and every now and then, someone either kind or foolish---or both---had let him spend the night at their house.

"Will you be coming back?"

"I couldn't say. I don't know why I came back this time." Now Sephiroth was quiet. "Do you want me to stay, Cloud?" he returned then.

The other's eyes widened, then quickly narrowed again. "No!" he snapped. "Of course I don't."

Sephiroth smirked slightly, turning to fully face him. "Then I'll stay," he said.

Cloud looked honestly surprised again. Then he immediately whirled around to go back inside. "You were probably not really going to leave," he muttered. "I knew it would be hard, to get rid of you."

Sephiroth was amused. He could tell Cloud did not mean it.

"Hey! Looks like you two are still civil with each other. That's better than I'd hoped for."

Both of them started and looked up. Zack was leaning against a tree in the yard, just to the side of the porch. Aerith was standing next to him, smiling softly.

Cloud was stunned. He went past Sephiroth, going to the edge of the porch. "I thought you said you wouldn't be able to come any more," he said, gripping the railing. He had hated that last departure, after Jenova had been sealed. Zack had given him and Sephiroth a sad smile, saying that his and Aerith's mission had been completed and that they had to go. And Cloud had suddenly felt despair, certain that he would never see either of them again.

Sephiroth had come over as well. "I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away long," he commented, crossing his arms. "Even if you had to break rules in order to get here. Is this supposed to be a peaceful goodbye?" He was glad, to have another chance to speak to his old friend. Zack had been there for him all along the way. He had guided Sephiroth in regaining his memories. He had comforted the other and had given him the strength he needed once it all flooded back. He had been the true friend Sephiroth had always believed he was, when he was in his right mind.

Aerith looked from him to Cloud, moving forward to climb the steps. "Actually, not this time," she said, her eyes dancing.

Cloud stared at her. What did she mean? What was going on?

Now she was standing in front of him. Her eyes were still bright, but the expression on her face was definitely awkward. She shifted, as if she hoped Cloud would understand what was going on without her saying anything.

A suspicion was beginning to form in the blond's mind. But did he dare to actually think it? To voice it? It could not be true. . . . They had said . . . both she and Zack had said . . .

Without warning he was suddenly glomped from behind. He gasped, his eyes widening in shock as his wild hair was suddenly ruffled and messed up all the more. Then Zack was laughing, happy and joyous.

"There's no goodbyes this time, Cloud," he grinned as the blond pulled away and turned to gawk at him in utter shock and disbelief. Sephiroth looked likewise astonished.

Cloud's mind was suddenly a blank. Zack had hugged him. He had felt his friend's enthusiastic embrace. But . . . it was impossible! Zack could not be . . . Aerith could not be . . .

"You . . . you're both alive," he breathed at last, looking from one to the other.

Aerith nodded, smiling a bit more. "We are," she said, though she still looked awkward.

Zack was now standing in front of Sephiroth, looking up at the man who was his other best friend. "Looks like I was wrong about us not getting a second chance," he said, and abruptly threw his arms around the other in a tight hug. He was the only one who would ever dare to and want to embrace Sephiroth, and he was the only person whom Sephiroth would allow to do so.

Slowly the silver-haired man hugged back, overwhelmed. Zack was alive. . . . He had never expected this. He could feel the other's heart beating.

"Did you know about this?" he asked finally. It would be like Zack, to decide to pull a last-minute surprise after saying that he would not be able to come around any longer.

Zack pulled back, grinning into the green eyes. "Nope!" he replied. "Aerith and I were stunned, too."

I am very iffy on this blurb. XD; Still dunno what I think of Zack and Aerith coming back. I want it, and yet it just seems like it would undermine why they died! But oh well, it's cute, anyway. X3

I wonder if FF.net will still be broken when I get chapter 6 of T&D done, so that I'll have to use the exporting thing again. -.- **positively must get the chapter done this week!** The prompts at the weekly FF comm are very intriguing, especially where T&D is concerned: "Redemption" and "Broken Wings." The latter gives me an idea for an odd dream sequence where Seph's one black wing shatters like glass.

Ah, I like the picture with the feathers. XD Poor Cloud.

Speaking of which, the first blurb! Man, poor everybody. ;_;

And then the second blurb, which is totally ADORABLE. With Zack glomping people and Aerith and the slight awkwardness and poor Cloud, whom I could totally picture just kind of standing there with this expression of "Buhhh?" on his face. X3

But as much as I love the blurb I agree that it just might not have a place actually in T&D. Gaaah.

That's going to be so fun to color. X3

**cuddles everyone in the first blurb.** So saad!

Yay Zack glomping! XD I love the idea of Cloud's expression. **may have to illustrate.**

I guess I'll have to wait and see how I feel by the time I actually get to that point. Blaaah. XD; **wishes they weren't dead!**
