Lisa found a treasure trove of Crisis Core stuff, screengrabs for the first six chapters in the game (up to when Zack's hair style changes), and transcripts too. I haven't read everything, but chapter 4 is LOVE. Seph and Zack on their mission to find Angeal and Genesis! You can see how they're bonding and opening up to each other, and it's just ... SQUEE. There's also the flashback to the Seph and Genesis fight, plus they meet Genesis in the present.
This is the link to chapter four, for those daring to tread into spoiler territory: http://www.silenttweak.net/index.php?file=cc/chapter4 (everything else is accessible from the menu to the left, too)
But I want to post a little piece of the Seph and Genesis conversation in here. It's not really spoilery, but has some lovely pieces of character development.
Genesis: 「You were loved by the Goddess and shared none of her blessings. Even as heroes the world hates.」
Sephiroth: 「Loveless」 You haven't changed.
Genesis: The three friends are now gathered. One becomes chased. One takes flight. The last remaining friend becomes the hero.
Sephiroth: Quite the story.
Genesis: Between us and Angeal, which one is the hero? Me? or perhaps you?
Sephiroth: You can be the hero if you want.
Genesis: Oh. Your fame should have originally been mine.
Sephiroth: How pointless.
Genesis: Even now. What I truly wish to obtain is the 「Gift of the Goddess」.
Of course, I'm squeeing over Seph, quite weary of it all and disinterested in the glory he has. I'm undecided on what I think of Genesis, and I probably won't know until I've read everything (possibly not then, either), but I am still both puzzled and intrigued by his goals. What, exactly, does he believe is the "Gift of the Goddess"? Intriguing.
And I'm so terribly fond of my poor KH Seph clone who dies in Memento Mori. ;__; I kinda don't want to bring him back to life, considering that fic and his sacrifice. I'd rather leave that as it is. He had a very noble death scene. But I feel like writing a different, alternate story to introduce him in which he doesn't die. In such a storyline, it would probably be similar to how it went in my KH RP with Lisa: he shows up after a big battle with the clones and KH Hojo and declares his allegiance to Seph and the others.
Though if I did such an alternate storyline, and made that the main timeline instead (making Memento Mori the actual alternate version), it would eliminate the great character development between Cloud and Seph in Memento Mori. Of course, then I'd have another opportunity and more possibilities to try working that in another way.
Shine Until Tomorrow now has eight full chapters and I'm working on 9. I think the total may be 10 chapters and an epilogue.

Date: 2007-10-14 04:53 pm (UTC)Zack: That's just stupid. So, Genesis is also going to help him with his revenge?
Sephrioth: It's something I wouldn't want to believe.
Zack: Then don't believe it.
Sephiroth: I'll do that.
That's seriously like, right out of one of your fics. :D
I'm debating how much of those transcripts I really want to read. XD I think for now I'll just read it for scenes I'm curious about (like the one where Tseng tells Zack about why Sephiroth nominated Zack for that mission). *shrug*
...Genesis' voice also kind of bothers me. It makes him sound so...snooty, like he's always talking down at everyone. *shrug* I don't know, maybe once I actually get the game I'll end up feeling bad for him, but as of right now, I don't like him at all. XD
Though he is pretty. Darn him and his pretty!Re: *spazzing*
Date: 2007-10-15 08:03 am (UTC)I read 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Not sure if I'll read any more than that myself.
LOL. He does sound like he's talking down to everyone. Or that he's seriously spaced out.

Date: 2007-10-14 09:12 pm (UTC)The Gift of the Goddess line is definitely intriguing. I wonder what all that means to Genesis, and what his fascination with Loveless is?
Hmm, that's a tough choice! He really did make a great sacrifice, and the character development between Cloud and Seph was wonderful, so I can see why you wouldn't want to give that up. But on the other hand, it could be fun to think of new ways to work that in, and having Aeolus around would certainly be an interesting twist.^^ I'd certainly like to read a version with Aeolus alive, though whether to make that the main timeline... I honestly don't know. XD

Date: 2007-10-15 08:07 am (UTC)I still wonder what Loveless is. XD Though now I keep associating it with The Golden Apple Case in Detective Conan. All the talk of goddesses' gifts and whatnot.
**nodnod.** If I did an alternate version, I think I'd want to make that the main timeline, except for the Cloud and Seph interaction problem. It is definitely a puzzle!

Date: 2007-10-15 09:27 pm (UTC)The Golden Apple Case? Gah, I've still got to check out this anime so I have a better idea of the references. XD Unless...isn't there some story in Greek mythology about a golden apple? I think I knew that once, but I've forgotten it now. XD
**ponders** Well, if you did decide to do the alternate version, maybe you could use your idea for the fic with Cloud dying as a replacement for the Cloud and Seph interaction within the new timeline? It sort of seems appropriate with the roles reversed for the new timeline...

Date: 2007-10-16 02:19 am (UTC)Yep, you hit it! The Golden Apple Case is about a murder at a play about the Greek mythology golden apple.
There's also a place to read the manga online, which is very nice because there's like sixty volumes and only 19 available in the U.S. XD
I was thinking of that too! ^^ That could be very interesting.

Anyway, I've been trying to avoid CC spoilers, so I was hesitant to comment, but I do love that extended bit of the Seph/Gen conversation. Gen keeps /prodding/ him, trying to get some sort of reaction, and Seph's all "Whatever. I don't care. Do what you want." If I had to continue the conversation my way, based on speculation, it would end up like
G: I'm looking for the "Gift of the Goddess"
S: Yes, that's very interesting. You know, I sort of have orders to kill you now
G: And you think you could?
S: Unless you've improved since last time...
G: Even so, to do so would end the story before its time. We can't have that, now can we?
S: Who cares about /stories/? It would save a lot of trouble later.
G: So you're truly decided on this...I see but one course of action.
*Suddenly, G blasts hole in ceiling with fire spell and flies off through the opening*
S: ...........
S: ...hate it when they do that...
Z: *running up* I heard noises..did you find him?
S: If I ever meet the people in charge of that project...
Yeah, something like that.

Crack is easier for me, especially late at night...
