I'm working on Diamond Rose Glass, but I keep stalling. XD; Right now I'm in a scene that popped up unplanned. LOL. So I'll come back to it later. The good news is, I think the chapter's almost done!

And since I feel bad about so far not being able to offer anything this week, I bring a blurb. I opened the latest cracky crossover and wrote a whole bunch more in it. This is going to be an actual fic, but whether or not it will be accepted in my overall main timeline is debatable. LOL. (I kinda don't think my Phoenix Wright/FF7 fics happen in my main timeline, either. But all YGO/FF7 ones do. XD That's kinda a give-in, since they live in Domino City.)

Anyway ... here we go. Prepare for in-jokes! Ahh, George Newbern, we love your roles! ♥

For once, the business dinner was not turning out to be a complete disaster. Sephiroth and the others had not been bothered by frustrating and pushy people, much to their relief. Usually annoying business people were always trying to force deals on the crew from Jenova Corp. Tonight, even the seating arrangement was agreeable. They were sitting with Seto Kaiba and Dartz, who were both as sick of pushy business people as Sephiroth and the others were. Those two would not try to force them into any deals they did not want.

Zack was feeling good as he strolled to the buffet table. His mouth watered as he stared at all of the food. Quickly he began to fill a plate.

"Wow. You must be hungry," Seph said from behind him.

"No kidding!" Zack chirped. "You'd better get some of this."

An amused chuckle. "I'd better, before it's all gone."

Something did not seem exactly right. Zack whirled around and then stared in confusion. He was not looking at Seph. He was looking at a tall, broad man with dark hair and glasses. A tag attached to the left pocket of his business suit said "Press."

"Oh man!" Zack exclaimed. "You sound just like Seph!"

The other man was amused. "Really?" he said. "I've seen Mr. Sephiroth on TV sometimes. He sounds deeper than I do."

"Okay," Zack said, "if you sounded a little deeper, you and Seph would sound just the same." He held out his hand. "I'm Zack Fair!"

"Clark Kent," was the reply, as he shook Zack's hand. "I've seen you on TV, too. You always seem to have a lot of pep."

"You're Clark Kent?!" Zack burst out in shock. "I read your articles online! They're great!"

"Well, I'm glad to meet a fan," Clark said. "Do you think you can give me the lowdown on these dinners?" he asked, looking a bit sheepish. "This is the first time I've been to Domino City."

Zack blinked in surprise but then grinned. "Sure!" he said. "Wow, imagine me helping Clark Kent!" He took a bite of some delicious stuffed thing on his plate. "What do you want to know? You've been to business dinners before, right?"

Clark nodded. "Yes, I've covered quite a few back East," he said. "To be honest, I've heard a lot of strange things about Domino City and the dinners held here," he admitted. "I wondered if they're just tall tales or if they have some truth to them."

Now Zack gave a sheepish laugh. "What have you heard?" he asked. He could just imagine the bizarre stories that had been going around. There was no end to what people could tell about Domino City. That was not necessarily a bad thing, but he was not sure the city's reputation as a hotspot for everything weird, odd, and supernatural was something of which to be proud.

Clark began filling his own plate. "Well, let's see," he said. "A couple of times stories have come in about people losing their souls to some supernatural forces."

"Will you think I'm nuts if I say it's true?" Zack said with a lopsided grin. They had become unwillingly involved the last time such a crisis had occurred; their enemy Azazel Rakesh had been one of the victims, and Cloud had nearly become another, only barely saving himself by winning the duel he had been forced to play.

"You seem pretty sane to me," Clark told him. "So do a lot of the others who report these things."

"That's something, anyway," Zack declared.

"Did those people get their souls back?" Clark asked.

"Yep!" Zack nodded. "I don't know a lot about what happened, though. Some of the local kids might know more." He began to scarf down the pasta and cheese casserole. "Azazel Rakesh is around here somewhere," he said when he swallowed, "but I don't think he'll wanna talk about what happened to him."

A nod. "One event that's been quite notorious is the alleged appearance of one of these 'soul-stealers' at a business dinner," Clark said.

"And that's definitely true," Zack said. "I was a personal witness to it! The creep challenged one of those local kids I mentioned, but the kid won. The other guy started walking around like a zombie."

Clark frowned. "Yes, a lot of reports of that kind of behavior came in too," he said. "My editor was going to send me over here to cover the story, but then there was an outbreak of the same kind of trouble in Metropolis. However, no one was sure if the soul-stealing angle was really the truth. Before anyone had a chance to do much of a thorough investigation, the people began to wake up."

"Good deal," Zack said. "It was going on back here for a long time. I guess you guys only got involved at the tail-end of it!"

Clark nodded. "That was a relief." As he finished selecting his food choices, he stepped away from the buffet table. Zack walked with him to a secluded spot off to the side.

"Then there was something about monsters from a card game coming to life all over the city and then the world," Clark mentioned.

"Hoo boy." Zack shuddered. "We weren't living here then, but we heard about it later. Can't say I'd really be that surprised if it's true." But he would not speak of the full reason why he was not surprised, which was because of the monster summoning on Gaia. Of course their secret of being from another planet would have to be kept from a reporter, no matter how much Zack enjoyed his articles.

"And there's also been multiple reports of winged men," Clark announced.

Zack nearly choked on his finger sandwich. "Yeah?" he gasped, grabbing for a cup of ice water on the edge of the buffet table.

Clark nodded. "Some people have wondered if they're connected with Hawkman or Hawkgirl in any way," he said.

A confused blink. "Who're they?" Zack asked in between downing half the glass's contents.

"Superheroes," Clark said. "They come from another planet where winged humans are the dominant race."

This information almost made Zack choke again. Clark Kent had just spoken of extra-terrestrials as casually as if he had said it was going to snow tomorrow. And he acted as if it was common knowledge about these hawk people. Zack had to find out more.

"Another planet?" he said, hoping he did not sound overeager. "And people don't flip out about them like they do the little green men and stuff like that?"

"Well, not everyone trusts them," Clark admitted, "but the majority of the people are very accepting and very grateful." He gave Zack a sidelong glance. "I hope you won't think I'm prying, but I'm just curious---where did you live before you came to Domino?" Zack must have looked hesitant, because Clark hastened to add, "Off the record, of course," with a smile.

Zack grinned. "It was a long way from here," he chirped truthfully. "We didn't get much news about things happening in other places." Which was an understatement; on Gaia they had not developed their space program to the point of allowing people to explore other planets. It was similar to Earth's own space program, really; one of the odd things the two planets had in common.

"And when we got here," Zack continued, "we got so busy with work we didn't have time for much else."

"You almost sound like you came from another planet yourself," Clark smirked in jest.

Zack laughed. "Yes, I guess it does," he said, unable to help thinking If you only knew.

"What's going on here?"

Now that definitely was Seph's voice. Zack whirled, grinning at his buddy. "Hey Seph!" he greeted. "I got really involved in telling this reporter all about the weird stuff here in Domino. This is Clark Kent! Can you believe that? And he sounds like you!" he rushed on.

Amused and a bit embarrassed, Clark held out his right hand. "Do we really sound that much alike?" he said.

Sephiroth shook the man's hand. "No," he grunted.

Speaking of Superman stuff, I am hooked on the song Kryptonite after seeing a Crisis Core AMV with it. The chorus makes me think of Seph. X3 "If I go crazy, will you still call me Superman?" Seph being the most powerful SOLDIER and all. I dunno that he's comparable to Superman, but he'd come the closest as far as physical strength is concerned. XD

Then I showed Kaze an AMV with that other Superman song It's Not Easy, and she realized that a lot of it could fit Zack. So I looked, and I found someone else who'd had the same idea! Oh my gosh, that AMV is so poignant. ;__; And it ends with Cloud there, taking Zack's place as he rides on the train to Midgar, as the last "It's not easy ... to be me" plays.

And I need to post that Justice League clip where Superman makes that speech I think could fit T&D Seph. X3 **purrrr.** Not to mention, I've gotta finish that blurb of Seph and Kefka fighting.

Yay blurb! X3 As always, Zack loves his food. ^^ LOL at the "You sound just like Seph!" line! XD

Ooh, very nice tie-ins to "Dragons at Dawn"! X3 And squee at the Seto cameo! X3 Oh, yes, and Dartz, too. ^^ I think I know who those "local kids" might be... XD

And, ooh, if you bring the rest of the Justice League into the story, that totally gives you an excuse to bring Batman (and possibly the Riddler...?) into the picture! X3

LOL at Zack's "If you only knew"! XD And at him eating throughout!

And LOL at Seph thinking that they don't sound alike! **snerk... now I really want to write Raoul into "Eine Mitternachtsstimme" for a similar scene with him and von Krolock! XD**

Yay for it being an actual fic! Very much looking forward to it! X3

And yay poignant AMVs!

Thanks! LOL. I think having the whole Justice League would overwhelm me. XD I was thinking of Bruce Wayne attending the business dinner, though.

Ooh, it's gonna be an actual fic? Yay! ^^

LOL. I've always been imagining everything happening in the same timeline. XD

LOL @ Zack being a fan of Clark Kent. **and randomly wonders if he'd seen Peter Parker's photographs of Spiderman.** XD

**is amused at Seph thinking they sound nothing alike.** Of course he'd say that! XD

That was such a fun blurb. ^^

Did you have Kryptonite, by the way? **could record it.** I'm just about to record It's Not Easy, too, if you'd like me to send it. ^^

The It's Not Easy AMV is totally one of my favorites! ^^ **hugs it.** So saaad, though. ;__;

You should definitely post that clip! And finish the blurb. ^^ **is really curious about Kefka.**

XD Well, I've been thinking there's some plotholes and problems with the Phoenix Wright stuff being in the main timeline. For one thing, PW is supposed to take place a few years in the future. But mainly I keep thinking that if Azazel really shot Miles, and Miles can identify him, that's a pretty huge scandal and I don't know how to keep the Fragmented Triangle crew from being found out and going to jail. XD; It's just too messy for my main timeline. It's one thing if he shoots one of the Jenova Corp crew and they decide not to press charges because of the different world stuff and that possibly being dragged into court. It's quite another to shoot a prosecuting attorney.

And thanks! LOL. That would be amusing, if Zack's seen those photographs.

Yep, Seph would have to say it to keep up the joke. XD And he probably really doesn't think they sound alike.

Both would be great! Thanks! **loves those AMVs.**

Ohhh. Yeah, that would be messy, unless you wanted that to happen to Dalton & Co in the future. XD But could Miles really identify Azazel? **forgets if he was able to in the story.**

**nods.** I'll bet Seph wouldn't really like the idea of anyone sounding like him, either. XD

No problem! ^^ **is recording now.**

Yeah, I really wanted them to stay out of jail. XD Miles was able to identify some things about Azazel, such as the fake hand. And he may have seen the trademark coat. I'm not sure.

LOL. Seph definitely wouldn't. XD

^^ Yay!

What a fun blurb, yay for in-jokes. ^^ Zack's just adorable throughout. Oooh, Dragon at Dawn...man, I really wanna see Cloud duel now. How badass would that be!?

Ooh, 'Kryptonite'. Haven't heard that song in a while. Now it's gonna be stuck in my head, lol.

Hmm...who is 'It's Not Easy' by? It sounds really familiar...

Thanks! Yeah, it's been a blast writing this. XD

Buwahaha. X3 Cloud dueling would be so awesome. Though he'd probably wonder what was the point of dueling with cardboard instead of swords. LOL.

XD

It's by Five for Fighting. ^^ I could send you the AMV tomorrow, if you want.
