I'm in the Conan Yahoo Group.... I joined it when I was having trouble getting anyone to review my stuff at ManyCases1Truth. (Didn't have much luck at the Yahoo Group, either, but that's beside the point.) It seems like most of the members are rather young, and many of them don't have English as their first language. Someone started a topic of how DC should end, and I've so far only seen the typical "OMG Conan must win and the Black Org must all die!!!!!!111" sort of things. Now, I understand Black Org hate, believe me. XD The things they do are legitimate reasons to not like them. But still, it does depress me a little, not to see anyone there who's speaking up for them, or having a bit of a kinder thought for at least some of the members. (I did, though, of course.)
For a while I've been pondering on a story I want to write which does detail the fall of the Black Org. I only have bits and pieces of the thing in my mind.... It would be Gin/Sherry, and part of the reason for writing it would be to try to give them a happy ending, for once. I want to see if it can be done without OOCness. XD One weird idea going through my mind for the beginning of the story was Sherry being accidentally struck by the Porsche during a snowstorm (yeah, I love snow in relation to them). Though I don't know why Gin wouldn't just finish the job when he found out who'd been hit. I don't know if Vermouth would come through the story alive, but if she dies, she'd have the noble end that Claude, Ran_Mouri82, and myself (among others) picture for her. And Gin and Vodka get away in the end. XD; The idea would be for Sherry to end up going with them, but of course there would have to be a LOT of things taking place in order to come to that end while making sense.
I finished the next chapter of Breakdown today---"Such a Lovely Lonely Night." I like how it turned out. Next chapter it's going to start getting especially difficult to write. Right now Portman's testing a drug on Gin to see what sorts of hallucinations and whatnot that he has. So next chapter she'll start doing things created especially to break him. o.o
And I saw the horrifying promo video of what an Americanized version of Sailor Moon would have been like. @___@ Not a bad dub, but an actual, American-made Sailor Moon. The theme song was both live-action and animated, and the characters didn't even look like they were supposed to! The animated sequences looked like typical 80s cartoon fare, and the live-action parts and the theme song were typical middle school girl stuff. **shudders.** Oh man.... Even a bad dub is better than that! I'm so glad that they just decided to dub Sailor Moon instead of making their own. Now I need to watch some real Sailor Moon to push those images out of my mind. XD The only good thing about that promo was the adorable cat they had for Luna.
But that shall have to wait, as we're going to get groceries soon!
The boxsets for Talespin and Darkwing Duck come out tomorrow. X3 **purrs.** I want to ask for one on my birthday, but I'm torn between which one. I was going to go with Talespin, but when I saw the cover art for the DWD one, I immediately got nostalgic for "my" Disney show. While I think in the end I do love Talespin best, DWD was what I always watched coming home from school (during the brief time I actually attended public school). I would take a toy flashlight and magnifying glass and put an apron on my back and pretend to be Darkwing and solve crimes. XD Ahhh.... Good times, good times. **has almost always been a mystery buff.** That's how I got interested in DWD in the first place. It was promoted as a show about a crime-solving duck, so I watched once and was hooked.
