I haven't blogged much because I'd rather be writing fics. XD; So, at the moment my chapter is going slowly.
I finally got Zack on Tuesday! **squees!** I should have got him long ago, but that's a long and frustrating story I haven't really wanted to go into on the blog. (Which is also why I didn't immediately mention on Tuesday that I'd gotten him.) Anyway, he's just amazing! Beautiful details (the hair and face are incredible!), the floppy piece of hair is so cute (though it doesn't flop, XD), and he's about an inch shorter than Seph (though his hair makes it more like a quarter inch, LOL). ♥ His arms have some lovely muscle, too. He definitely comes highly recommended for all Zack fans! X3
And I've been doing more random fic ponderings.
Even when I was five, I recognized and adored the squee of Scott and Elliott's friendship on Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Of all the possible friendship combinations between the guys, theirs seemed to be shown the most. So naturally, when writing fics, it's become a prominent factor for me. ♥
Lately I've realized a confusing problem in that I'm not sure which one of the guys to have as the one Sean's closest to. XD; When I was little I think I teamed him up with Barry, and I still really like that. X3 I imagine Sean to be more serious than he's usually shown as being on the show, for this reason: how the heck could he be the leader if he wasn't more serious sometimes? It's either that, or that they just humor him and one of the others is really secretly the leader, while letting Sean continue to think he is so as not to hurt his feelings. But I love Sean too much to think he's just a complete goofball, so I often explore his more serious side in my fics. Anyway, so I envision that he and Barry often have deep conversations and that Barry probably is the one he relates to best on that level.
But Sean and El are childhood friends in my timeline (and their real-life counterparts really did meet first, albeit in college), and they also have a really close bond because of that. Also, from what I've observed on the show, they usually seem to pair up frequently for amusing bits, and probably are the second most-shown friendship other than Scott and El. I reflect that in my fics too, and usually have El cracking up at the silly things Sean says.
Then there's Sean and Scott. Also intriguing, and I love the little bits where they're shown together, such as their Under the Boardwalk parody and the "back-to-back" chorus of Zombie Jamboree. But other than that and some other song parodies, I honestly can't think of too many instances where the two of them specifically interact on the show. XD; (For that matter, Sean and Barry interacting hasn't really been depicted on the show, either, that I've seen.) I've been kind of unsure how to portray them in my fics, but ended up going with them having a close bond as well, with Scott sometimes being the first to talk to Sean about problems cropping up. Sean also considers Scott to be his second-in-command. I also threw in the element of them having different ideas on how to handle problems, though that was only actually mentioned in Fifteen Minutes and alluded to in Wish You Were Here. There may have been some tension when they first started out at ACME and Sean treated it as a game, though I recall mentioning Elliott being the most exasperated by that. XD;
Of course, they all do have close bonds with each other, and Scott and El each have close bonds with Barry, too, but I'm still left puzzling over which one Sean is closest to, if any. In my fics, I guess I'm not sure he does have one specific one he's closer to than the others, unless it is Barry. But then there's El, and gah ... XD; I end up getting nowhere when I try to figure it out. LOL. Maybe Sean is close to all of them equally. XD
Then there's Jeff, who is a recurring character, though not yet a member of the group in my fics. He works with his private eye uncle as a P.I. in training and is an impulsive sixteen-year-old. (Their fictional selves are younger in my fics than their real-life counterparts were when filming the show.) From the season 5 episodes I've seen, I've sensed that he and Elliott seem to have bonded, so now and then I allude to that friendship beginning. I also have sensed a particular bond with Sean, especially after seeing them team up for that gag in the Serendipity Word on the Street, and somehow I've ended up with it that Sean likes teasing himand possibly sees him as the younger brother figure, if he sees any of them that way? ...
