Yes!

For a while I've had trouble reconciling Autor in the sentient Story fics and Autor in the paranormal mysteries fics, even though it's supposed to be the same timeline. I think my mindset was because the story that kicked off the paranormal mysteries was meant to be a separate story, not connected to anything else, and I wrote it with that in mind. Hence, Autor seemed a little different to me in the paranormal mysteries, as though he may or may not be weighed down with the memory of his past insanity (even though I wrote that he was). But through scenes in the latest chapters of Think Back on Yesterday and The Adventures of the Underground Crypt, I've finally determined once and for all that the character is the same "version" in both sets of fics. Finally, he feels the same to me in both of them.

I also finally have been working more on the fic where Ahiru is shot. o.o I am not pleased with the style for a lot of it; I will have to go over it and try hard to alter the style in the places I don't like. For one thing, the opening seems a little too ... I think the word is "meta". The narration seems too omniscent, a style I don't care for and rarely ever use. But that's how it started coming out. And both then and when it switched to normal third-person narrative, there wasn't enough detail and description. Aurgh.

I also may need to insert other scenes; I go from Ahiru being helped at the scene to Fakir arriving at the hospital. I wonder if there should be an intermediate scene, maybe something from Ahiru's POV? Not sure on that. But it seems like something is needed. I wonder if I should show the scene where Autor is trying to wash Ahiru's blood off his hands, instead of just having him think on it later. ;__;

I think I like how Fakir and Autor's confrontation came out; Fakir gets over his burst of anger on his own, though Autor decides they need a while apart as they try to deal with their worry over Ahiru.

I'm also getting bolder on bringing more directly religious explorations into fics, as generally happens as I grow more confident in a fandom. This one continues a topic mentioned by Autor in the Underground Crypt fic, that of his own beliefs. I had been going to start a fic specifically just to tinker with that, and then I realized the fic I already had going, with Ahiru hurt, was a good one to work with on the subject.

After all, Autor's died and been in the afterlife in my timeline. You gotta wonder where he stands and how it might differ from what he could have believed before.
