Further fic plans.
Dec. 10th, 2012 03:43 pmI'm thinking I'd better jot this down before I forget it.
I'm not sure I really want to go with the angle of Coley and Pinto ending up arch-enemies. I'm thinking now that maybe it would be more interesting to have Snakes be one of the main antagonists, and he contacts Flo or F.O.W.L. with some scheme of his related to the time travel. Maybe Posey's gang would even be forced to work with Jim and company before it was all over. LOL. Although that partnership wouldn't end up anywhere the same as with Coley and Arte, since I intend for Posey's gang to always be bad, whereas Coley is sick of running and wants to start over with a clean slate, if he can get it.
I'm also thinking, that since Ray's initial motivation for wanting Coley to stay at the club is because he's so lonely and wants someone for a friend who understands what it is to suffer, that if I do the scene where Coley is dying after saving Ray from a bitter former blackmail victim, I'll have Ray address that (if he doesn't do it earlier). I picture Ray crying and saying, "I started out wanting you to stay because I was lonely, but I've come to really care about you personally." And pleading with Coley not to leave him, gah.
I'm not sure at this point if Coley will really die in Ray's arms, though, or if he and Pinto will be thrown about in the explosion (which will probably be caused by Snakes) and thought dead without any bodies for proof. And then Coley would stumble out of the smoke, wounded from the blackmail victim but alive. (Pinto would be alright, too.) Since Jim was thought dead in an explosion in the first story, though, I don't know if I want to re-visit the scenario. But at this point, after all the hurt/comfort involving Coley so far, I also don't know if my vision of a long death scene is a good idea. I guess I'll figure it out when I get that far.
