So finally I got so fed-up not being able to find any of the Pony plushies that we were able to go to another Wal-Mart to look. I found Vinyl Scratch and Cheerilee there. They had some pretty good Vinyls, but only three Cheerilees, and they were all flawed. Nevertheless, since I've had such bad luck finding any here, I decided I shouldn't leave the store without one. So I picked the one least messed up. It still drove me bonkers, though, because her problem is being under-stuffed. So much so that she has creases in her sides. My Build-a-Bear Fluttershy was like that, and I just couldn't stand it. I finally had to take her to get more stuffing put in, an experience I'd still like to document sometime because it was such a fun outing.
Anyway, so now I find that, of course, our Wal-Mart now has Vinyl and Cheerilee. And theirs are actually better. I should really take Cheerilee and exchange her for one of those, especially since my only purpose in buying an under-stuffed one was in case I couldn't find a better one for ages.
Only now that I've had her around, I don't know if I'll feel too guilty to exchange her. I'm an incurable sentimentalist. But the under-stuffing just drives me mad and I can't be at peace about it, just like I couldn't about Fluttershy. I wouldn't dare try to open Cheerilee and stuff her more myself; I'd probably cut her when I was cutting the thread.
Also, I've learned that Toys R Us carries the Princess plushies Wal-Mart still hasn't gotten. Problem is, they charge $20 each instead of the $10 each Wal-Mart was going to charge. I don't know whether to try to get them at Toys R Us or not. I sure don't like the price, but it's far, far worse online. Celestia usually goes for $40 or $50!
