I have extreme Spring fever today. But for me, Spring fever has nothing to do with getting out in the great outdoors. I am not an outdoorsy person. Rather, it means I want to go shopping for certain things baaad, because I'm having nostalgia over having bought similar certain things in past Springs.

There's a rumor that Rarity may get an early release this week. If she does, though, Build-a-Bear is being so secretive about it, which probably means it will be a closed release to customers of their choosing. I doubt I'd get invited. But I think that since the Pony plushies are a licensed Limited Edition item and not everyone will be interested in them, Build-a-Bear should send invite emails to everyone who has shown interest in buying the Pony plushies in the past, regardless of whether they've also bought other plushies from Build-a-Bear. That doesn't seem to be the way it works, though. Sigh. They seem to only choose people who have bought tons of stuff from them.

When Fluttershy got an early release, some people took the email and passed it to others, who put their own email address into the invite to make it look like they'd been invited. Even though there were probably enough Fluttershys to go around, and there would probably be enough Raritys if the same thing happens now, I don't want to participate in that. Aside from the fact that I just wouldn't feel honest about doing it, it seems to me like eventually some of the people fiddling with the emails could get caught. Build-a-Bear might be wise to the thing this time around. It would be way embarrassing to be caught giving them a doctored email right in the store. And who knows what would happen; they might take away some or all of the privileges of being part of their Rewards club. In any case, I'm sure if anyone was caught, they wouldn't get to participate in the early release.

I really wish I could be invited to an early release, though. I have a coupon that would take $5 off my order, and it's only good through the end of the month, so I wouldn't be able to use it for the general release on April 4th.

Upside: I do think I'll be able to get there at least for the general release or very soon afterwards. I was worried I wouldn't have a way up there, but it looks like I will.

Also, Perry Mason is still present for Round 3 of MeTV's contest. The show definitely has a lot of fans there! Ironside is still in the running, too. Man, I wonder if there's any chance that they'll face off eventually. Then I'd run into another problem of Ironside being the better show, but Perry still being my favorite.

And I had a weirdo dream about having checked out a book from the library about Ginger and Lou. It was a red hardback and looked like something written in the 1920s or 1930s. I love the way books from that era were printed and bound. The story seemed to be Prohibition era, but within the book it said it was 1886. LOL. Ginger and Lou seemed to be criminals, but I don't know if they were jewel thieves like in the Rockford episode or not.

The downside was that it was the third book about them and ended with them both being killed. Apparently they'd gone afoul of a gangster who came after them. Lou was killed first, yelling for Ginger (gah), and then the book ended a few pages later with Ginger's death. It had a very Untouchables feel. That show is so intense, but so darn depressing a lot of the time.

I also had the first book about them (a blue-gray hardback) and was exasperated over not being able to find the second, which was the one I wanted most.

It almost makes me want to write a few stories about some of their adventures as jewel thieves. They've reminisced on that time in several of my pieces, but I haven't written any taking place back then or having extended flashbacks to then.
