So I get a lot of $20 Amazon gift cards as payment for my work with one of the survey companies. Currently I've been buying the Mannix seasons Netflix doesn't have. But thanks to Amazon being greedy and changing their free shipping minimum from $25 to $35, it makes it a lot more difficult to buy there. I have to wait to use my gift card until I can spare at least $15 to go with it and put the order up to the free shipping minimum.

So I got a gift card a few weeks ago and have been impatiently waiting around to be able to buy something. Finally I got exasperated and decided I could go ahead. But I could only spare the absolute minimum, and with the Mannix season at $24.99, I could only buy something a few cents over $10 to go with it.

That left me with scant few choices. On my wishlist, about the only things around the $10 mark are The Rockford Files season 3 and The Bionic Woman season 3. And while the latter isn't the travesty a lot of fans claim, I do prefer seasons 1 and 2 over 3. And there's only around 6 or 7 season 3 episodes I haven't seen, although I'd be happy to have the whole set because of Richard.

For season 3 of Rockford, I'd be getting it for the first Simon episode and the first two Luke Andreas episodes. But I do have the Simon one recorded off the TV, and since Rockford is going back on the weekdays on MeTV, I could record the Luke ones in three months or so. But I don't know if I want to wait that long and anyway, I like having DVD copies the best. And admittedly, when looking over the episode guide for season 3, some of the other episodes sounded pretty interesting. But there's no guarantee we'd even be watching them any time soon. We don't watch a lot of Rockford, even though Mom has decided she likes it better than she did (and even I've been warming up a bit). We both prefer Mannix. Mom finally suggested watching some Rockford the other day, though, so maybe we'll be doing it off and on.

Anyway, so debating back and forth between the two, I finally picked Rockford. But they've been taking forever to ship, and yesterday I started wondering if I'd rather cancel Rockford and get something else. I can spare a couple more dollars for the second purchase now and there's a book I'd like.

But I know I usually regret cancelling parts of orders and I did want the Rockford set and I've been waffling around for hours and even wondered if the thing had already shipped and I just hadn't got the email yet, since I usually get those in the middle of the night. But they haven't shipped quite yet, although today they say they're now preparing to do so and cancellation isn't guaranteed. And I can't decide if I want to even try or if I'd rather just keep the order as is, since I did want the Rockford set.

If I had more money, I'd just do it, but since I have to regulate it so carefully I have to select what I want the most. And right now I just can't seem to do that. I was hoping typing it out might help me figure out what to do, as it's helped sometimes. But right now, it's just not. All I'm ending up with is the same confusion and the same blank when I try to picture how I'd feel if I cancelled.

Maybe that means the best thing to do is nothing and just let it ship.
