Note to self: Learn the symbols and abbreviations on an unfamiliar website before plunging into a fic! I ended up walking unprepared into an Autor/Fakir fic because I did not do this. (I've read one or two before on purpose because I want to see them interacting, LOL.) I totally want Fakir to have Ahiru, so it's saaad reading a fic where they won't be together. Plus, I'd rather see platonic interaction between Fakir and Autor. I was so starved for a fic with Autor (and interaction with him and Fakir) that I walked into it when I saw it was there. Because of the website's conflicting symbols, and the absence of a pairing tag, I somehow ended up thinking it was Gen. I admit I got suspicious when it was site-categorized as M/M (a label I've never seen as usable on an official archive before, but recognize from unofficial sources such as summaries), but I tried it anyway and then got so into it I forgot the site-category.
I loved the majority of the fic. The characters were very IC. The most enjoyable part was probably the glimpse into Autor's journal, and this one entry post-series where he doesn't remember things yet and thinks someone vandalized his journal and imitated his handwriting. LOL. (I actually think I may have read it before, on LJ, because that part seems so familiar.) I just wish it had been platonic in the end, as now I'm left with a craving for platonic interaction and a desperate need for a hurt/comfort fix.
Yes, hurt/comfort is an addiction. I prove that every day.
It is rare to find fics with Autor and Fakir interaction at all, and I am left to wonder, does anyone other than LunaSphere and I write them interacting platonically? I would love to find more platonic fics with them if they exist. Moon Shadow Magic has an excellent-looking Autor fic with Ahiru interaction, which I hope to sit down and read soon (it's a multi-chapter), but I want Autor and Fakir interaction from somewhere too.
Switching gears, I need to figure out how to get Fakir over to Autor and Ahiru in the Springheel Jack fic so all of my favorite characters can interact. Fakir is currently chasing the troll, but hopes Autor can help with information on stopping it. Autor, meanwhile, has sneaked into the house of the man who may have said information but will not see them. Ahiru is with him. I'm debating having them encounter lots of bizarre things in the house (which are probably definitely there), but I'm concerned that will shift the focus too far from Springheel Jack, who is wreaking havoc on the town. He needs to be stopped quickly. And I can't think of a reason to have Jack return to the mansion where he was imprisoned, unless he wants revenge on the guy who had him there. But he could have gotten said revenge before he left the house two hours earlier, so that doesn't seem a plausible angle.
Also, these paranormal fics seem to want to all be in a definite timeline. LOL. The Springheel Jack fic has been firmly established as taking place after my little Phantom Hitchhiker trilogy. I have also finally admitted these fics as taking place sometime after Fall From Grace, since I didn't want them to be a separate timeline after I added the third part.

Date: 2010-05-09 02:08 pm (UTC)Platonicism is love (wait, that doesn't make sense...). X3 And h/c is love, too. XD
Aww, that is too bad if most people don't write interaction between Autor and Fakir. It's kinda like that with me and LeBeau and Newkirk-- the majority of writers write a lot of Newkirk and Carter interaction, but there are a few who focus on Newkirk and LeBeau, if you know where to look. XD
Fakir chasing the troll = hilarious image. XD And oooh, yes, have them encounter bizarre things in the house! That's always intriguing. X3
LOL, *all* of my fics in all fandoms want to be in a definite timeline. XD And yay for one big timeline. X3

Date: 2010-05-09 02:16 pm (UTC)Platonicism is love, just not the romantic kind.
Romance, AUs, and crack seem to be the majority of what I see floating around. And I do love me some good Fakir/Ahiru fics. But there are definitely gems in other categories too. Oh, I just remembered one other Gen fic I found once with Autor and Fakir and Ahiru. **hugs it.**
I'd probably have them encounter a few things, but I'm still concerned about the house part taking up too much of the fic and making it look like Springheel Jack was just a plot device to get them in there (which he isn't supposed to be).
I could never organize a giant timeline like what you've done. LOL. That's dedication. It wouldn't really work, anyway, since I do definitely have several different YGO timelines now.

Yessss!
Yay finding a gen fic!
**nods** I'll be looking forward to it!
XD Yeah, I was a little disappointed that I couldn't fit the Reshef-verse fics in the main verse, but I'm definitely pleased that I was able to align eight fandoms into one big thing. XD

Date: 2010-05-09 04:11 pm (UTC)Hm... I'm guessing you want to keep Ahiru and Autor in the house, but if not you could cheat and shove them into a magic warping closet or something. Bring them to Fakir! LOL.
Totally not reminded of that one scene in the first HP movie. "Trooooooll! In the dungeon! Trooooooll in the dungeon!"Alas, as I've yet to finished anything other than oneshots I haven't had the continuity problem yet. LOL. Though I can see why it'd be hard to have that trilogy all on its lonesome after finishing it.

Date: 2010-05-10 12:29 pm (UTC)That's one of the awesome things about the fandom: the fans are amazing. I don't recall ever reading a fic where they weren't IC.
LOL. **snarks.**
That's the only one of the movies I've seen, but it was years ago and I don't remember that part.Yeah, I want to keep it going because there was good character development. So the timeline continues!
