I am absolutely loving my InsaneJournal backup. In between stories, I'm posting a few musings here and there. It really feels like a professional blog, even though of course it's not. But I think weaning myself off of emoticons has really improved my non-fiction writing and made me more proud of myself. The InsaneJournal feels more ... grown-up, somehow.

Since the fics I plan to post are all Monkees fics, I'm using my Kolchak icons for most of the musing posts. Of course, if websites keep breaking, I may decide I need backups of everything. I couldn't get into FF.net tonight, either. Although the site was working; I just couldn't log in.

Now if I just knew where to go to find a nice nest of Kolchak fans....

Yeah, FF.net likes to act up. Ugh. I suppose that's the explanation for the lack of reviews on chapter 2. I always seem to post when it decides to crash.

They do exist, but they're dead. I tried getting into one that I was in five years ago under another screenname, but the mods aren't around and don't approve me. Currently I'm trying to get into the Moonstone Comics forums. I don't know if Kolchak fans are around there much, but I imagine there's some, because of the graphic novels.

I'm used to liking things most people don't, but I know Kolchak does have a fanbase, so I wish I could find where they're gathering. Then maybe I could generate some more interest in my fics, too.

Yeah, I'm still wondering where to start as far as my LJ backup goes. I still want to write my musings here, though, but I probably should back up my longer ones there, I think... My character analysis ones, definitely. And maybe some others...

But I think weaning myself off of emoticons has really improved my non-fiction writing and made me more proud of myself.

Yeah, I... probably should do that. (Normally, I'd have a "XD;" after typing that...)

I need to upload more icons to my IJ. Yes... I haven't backed up the Wild Kratts ficlit yet because one of my flisters was going to try to make some icons of the animated icons, so I'm holding off for that. XD; (oops, there's the emoticon...) But I should make a start with the Carmen fics...

For the InsaneJournal, I wrote musings that are completely new. The most recent one has some information that I've told here, but it's presented in a new way and there's new material with it.

Yes, I taught you (and quite a few others) to use emoticons far too well.

That reminds me, I was going to get another icon on IJ. Good luck with your projects!

I've slowly started getting into Dreamwidth myself. I like IJ, if only for the 100 icons but hnnngh, the layout is hideous. ;~;

I've considered Dreamwidth too, but in the end I went with IJ because it just amuses me too much and I've wanted to try it for years. The basic layout is hideous, yes, but you can customize your own journal! Have you taken a peek at mine? I'm just tickled with the journal layout and the mood theme I have!
