Davy Jones is dead, of a heart attack at 66.

That is way too young to die. I thought we'd have all the Monkees with us for a long time yet.

I'm in shock from the news, but as it's really sinking in I'm getting sad. I'll probably be crying later and watching Monkees episodes. I wonder if Antenna TV will do some kind of tribute with Davy episodes this weekend.

And eerily, I was listening to a Monkees song Davy sang lead on just as I was discovering the news.

EDIT: This Yahoo article wasn't the first I read, but I like it the best. The tributes by the other Monkees at the end are very poignant. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/monkees-singer-davy-jones-dies-180751406--abc-news.html I am very close to crying now.

It really is a nice article. I'm not sure if I saw the TMZ one, but whatever it was, it was a lot less personal than the Yahoo one.

*hugs* I found out on the site of a local newspaper and I am bummed too I did say that I saw a few episodes and I wish it was still syndicated in Canada, the last time I saw it was 5 years ago, and we don't have antenna tv

A part of me now wants to finish episode 8 in tribute but would it be too soon?

...And to think I was just watching "Prince and the Paupers" yesterday... eerie for me, too.

It's starting to sink in for me, too. ;___; Those tributes... Did you read the full version of Mike's on FB? I was tearing up.

Eerie indeed. I'm planning my own tribute, which will include that episode and several others. I'll have to find the details and times of Antenna's.

I went to Facebook to look and found that Antenna had reposted it, so it's there on my Reading Page (whatever Facebook calls it). Very poignant and moving. I'm tearing up too. The Monkees CD I'm playing now seems very bittersweet.

It was such a shock to hear the news this afternoon, it just doesn't seem real. :(
I have so much love for Davy and he was a huge part of my life so I feel so very sad about his passing, especially at just 66 years old.

In regards to Antenna, I read somewhere that they are indeed airing a Monkees Marathon this weekend in memory of Davy, I think they will also be showing Head too.

I saw this Wednesday afternoon and thought of you. *consolation* I'll have to read/ see more about it, though it's been years since I've seen any Monkees (though Dad liked the show and, very unusual for him, their music.)
