For [livejournal.com profile] octoberwriting, everyone must do one Halloween-themed fic that reaches a minimum of 6,000 words. I asked what to do about posting if it went over not only that, but LJ's word limit for entries. I figured my fic (the haunted house thing I mentioned before) would definitely go over, but then started to doubt.

I've been writing a lot of it already and I'm still not near the ending. It went over 6,000 some time ago, and now it's moving steadily towards 8,000.

I really should have known never to doubt.

It's so much fun to work on. Even moreso since it draws even more heavily from my creepy house dreams than the FF7 fic Dead to the World did. It brought a very surreal feeling to the basement, especially (which is probably the house level closest to its real-life self in the fic). And someone has gotten lost from the group on the second level and will be thrust into the frightening wandering that goes on in my dreams. I'm not quite sure how that will get resolved, but I think it might result in a meeting with the rescue group that went out.

And Crystal may be creepily amused by some hijinks with an Angel of Grief statue in the house's cemetery.

Uh-oh. Haha, is that what I think it is?

This is an Angel of Grief: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_of_Grief They're also called Weeping Angels. LOL. I certainly have no intention of the one in the story being an alien assassin, but it does reach out and grab Paul, and later repairs its arm when Steve shoots it.
