**headdesk.** Why?

There are four main interests from my childhood that I still do things with and sometimes (or often) collect: My Little Pony, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Brothers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Usually I stick with Ponies and sometimes I actually feel guilty for switching to one of the others for a bit. Ponies were the main thing I longed for so badly in my childhood, so I like to mainly stick with them now. I feel like I'm finally fulfilling that little girl's dreams by being able to get Ponies often.
But for some reason, right now I have this extreme desire to go buy the Raphael plush at Wal-Mart. They've been having the big Turtles plushies in-store again lately, which is nice, and they just increased their price by a dollar (which isn't nice).
I really have no idea why I suddenly have the urge to get that. I have the Leo plush, and I really don't spend as much time with it as I do some of the Sonic or Pony plushies, so it seems illogical to get Raph. Plus, the Turtles in this line all have the same serene expression. Raph, looking serene? It just isn't done!
I don't imagine I'll really get it, especially when I was just planning to buy a couple of those pre-stuffed dolls at Jo-Ann's. But I don't actually know when I'll get out to Jo-Ann's. I hate to ask my friend for another trip so soon; shopping and eating out are pretty much my favorite things to do, but I think she probably prefers to do outdoorsy stuff, so I've been trying to think of something she might especially like for the next time we do anything.
So while I'm trying to figure out how to get to Jo-Ann's, meanwhile Wal-Mart has one Raph plushie left (as of last week, anyway; maybe there's none now) and I've suddenly got this urge to buy it. **headdesk.** Hopefully seeing it again, or not seeing it again, will talk some sense into me.

At the same time, I understand why you would still want it--so that Leo won't be lonely. That's one of the things that annoys me about the Classic Doctor Who figures; there's Two, and he's adorable, but no Jamie. He needs his sidekick!

Date: 2014-04-26 07:46 pm (UTC)I still get the giggles of our discussion last year of the idea of Raph taking a bet to go a whole day without screaming and that's why he looks serene. ROTFLOL.
Hmm, it would be nice to have more than one for that reason. :) Also because I think Raph is my second favorite these days.
I still wish they'd done things different in the TMNT movie from 2007. They made it look like the argument between Leo and Raph is all Raph's fault. He's the only one who shows remorse, but Leo said some awful things too and didn't even apologize. It's so different from the first movie, when Leo is so upset about the argument. (Although maybe there, Raph didn't apologize. It was nice to see him so upset in TMNT, but Leo should have been, too.)

Well, then, I say go for it--and keep the cracky headcanon in mind, LOL.
Ahh, yeah, I remember not being too pleased with that part, too. Bleah.

LOL. Perhaps I will, if I come to the point where I have enough money to get that as well as the other things on my list. :)
I wonder if the novelization is any better. I've always meant to get it to see the additional scenes and the characters' trains of thought.
