Regarding Sailor Moon Crystal, episode 4 ... JADEITE IS ALIVE! And Beryl seems to show no inclination toward killing him ... yet!
I absolutely adored the scene at the end where all four Shitennou confront the Senshi and taunt them. Tentatively, I think that they're getting along better here, as per the manga version.
Jadeite isn't a favorite, but I definitely wanted him to stay alive so development could potentially happen. I hope so much that they will do the thing with the backstories of being Mamoru's protectors.
Alternately, though, I'm still worried they'll do that awful thing of the Shitennou being turned into the minerals they're named after if/when they do die. That is so preposterous. Why would that even happen, unless the idea to begin with is that they were created from the minerals and not just named for them?
I really, really wish that this anime would just leave them all alive, let them get their memories back, and let them be Mamoru's protectors. I don't know why the manga-ka felt that couldn't be done in the manga. She had them revive briefly, and maybe get their memories back (not sure on that point), and then they reverted to the minerals. WTH.
I also still wish for Nephrite/Naru to happen. Which might be less likely than the other points, but it's the same animation company and they've already made a nice deviation from the manga, so I see no reason why I can't keep hoping.
