Ah, justice.

Dang, I was really ticked off over the weekend. XD; I had fun talking to Stacey about all the idiots we were running into, though. We made lots of amusing jokes, such as that it must be International Idiots Come Out of the Woodwork week. And now the girl at Janime's has gotten herself banned. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but I wonder what she did that made the moderators snap. I must admit I'm highly curious.
I've calmed down now and I have written a new blurb. X3 I have an accompanying picture at Side7. There's some Valon hurt/comfort here.
By the time Alister caught up with Valon, the Australian boy was laying on his stomach in the snow, shivering violently and seeming dazed. Alister frowned, shaking his head as he knelt down next to him and laid a hand gently on the brunette's half-frozen bare shoulder.
"Valon," he said firmly, "you're not a child living on the streets anymore. You're not trying to escape from a gang chasing you down because you stole some food from them to stay alive." His grip tightened. "You need to recognize that you're stranded here in the canyons with me because we fell out of the airplane where we were fighting assassins." Valon had acted increasingly delirious and confused since Alister had regained consciousness in the snow and had found him. He supposed it was mostly because Valon didn't have a coat to wear; he only had jeans and a sleeveless T-shirt.
The boy shrugged weakly. "Not much point in getting up," he mumbled. "We're gonna die anyway." He stared ahead, unblinking, at the cold white snow in front of him.
"You're freezing," Alister said flatly.
"I'm not cold at all," Valon responded, disturbing his friend.
Alister was not pleased by these remarks. Valon was obviously falling deeper into hypothermia and before long he probably wouldn't even be conscious. Carefully the redhead started removing his own coat. He would have given it to Valon sooner, had the younger man not vehemently resisted at first (because he hadn't wanted Alister to be cold) and then now had not abruptly ran off the way he had.
The cold wind whipped against Alister's bare arms and midriff as soon as he had the dark coat completely off. He might have dressed differently, had he known that they would wind up in this predicament today, but of course he hadn't imagined it at all. He knelt down, gently draping the garment over Valon, and set about trying to force the teenager's arms into the sleeves. He had a feeling it wasn't going to be easy.
Indeed, Valon resisted, letting out a yelp and trying to squirm away---though this time it wasn't because he was worried about Alister. This time he simply didn't understand what was happening and thought that he was being attacked. Alister narrowed his eyes, gripping the brunette's arm firmly as he found himself wrestling with the confused boy. Eventually he wound up sitting on Valon's back, where he was finally able to finish getting the trenchcoat onto the freezing body. Valon shuddered, trying to shove Alister off.
"Don't worry, I'm moving," Alister grunted, sliding off into the snow. "You know, for someone who's younger and shorter than I am---not to mention ill and hypothermic---you're quite strong." Valon moaned in response and Alister sighed, watching as the brunette struggled to get up and grabbed at Alister's knee in the process. The trenchcoat's sleeves, made for someone with much longer arms, hung down over almost all of Valon's hands. It came down far enough at the bottom to hide all of the boy's boots. It would have been a laughable sight, perhaps, if the situation hadn't been so serious. Gently Alister reached out to steady his friend.
Valon abruptly plopped down in the snow beside Alister, looking at him with clouded blue eyes. "What's wrong with me?" he moaned, looking frustrated.
Alister sighed. "Aside from your hypothermia, I hope nothing is," he responded.
Valon grunted. "This thing doesn't fit me," he said abruptly, trying weakly to pull the sleeve up and watching it fall down again, obscuring his hand.
"Deal with it," Alister answered. Again he wondered where Raphael was. They hadn't seen him at all since falling out of the airplane. Was he somewhere else, wandering through the snow? Or was he laying hurt? Alister clenched a fist.
Abruptly he was startled out of his thoughts by a heavy weight slumping against him. He looked over at Valon, seeing the boy's limp body leaning by his side. He sighed before placing an arm around his friend so as to keep him from slipping to the ground. The Australian's eyes were closed now, and his cheek felt like ice against Alister's bare shoulder. He let out a raspy breath, burrowing deeper into the coat and snuggling closer against Alister's side for warmth. Alister ignored how cold he himself felt as he struggled to keep Valon warm. He pulled the coat more firmly around the boy, managing to buckle the belt that ran around the middle of it. His hands, freezing and numb, were shaking.
I'm going to wind up hypothermic like Valon has, he knew, unless Raphael is safe and he manages to find us soon. . . .
Valon moaned. "Mai?" he whispered. Alister couldn't tell whether he was still awake and delirious or if he had passed into unconsciousness and was dreaming, but at any rate he didn't like being mistaken for that woman.
"No," he retorted. "Mai's not here." And just as well. Alister had never liked her, though he hadn't shown it openly much, the way Raphael had. She had never really seemed to have a purpose in Doom. Alister wasn't sure why she had joined in the first place, unless it really was for the selfish reason of just wanting power. That was why Valon had joined Doom as well, Alister thought. Maybe that was one reason why they had never gotten along. Alister had joined Doom because he hated war and wanted to stop it . . . and because he had wanted to stop the Kaiba Empire from doing any more damage than it already had. He hadn't been able to understand Valon's reasons for joining the organization and he had been annoyed by the younger boy's "look out for number one" attitude.
No one ever cared about you, though, did they, he mused silently. And the only person who did was taken from you. I suppose your past attitude is understandable, even though I may not agree with it. He sighed, the wind tussling his crimson hair as snowflakes landed amongst the soft, curled locks.
He didn't know how long he stayed there, struggling to keep Valon warm and to not wind up falling into unconsciousness himself. Valon obviously had, and Alister was certain that if he did as well, neither of them would ever wake up again. Wherever you are, Raphael, hopefully your situation is better than ours.
The redhead sighed, dryly thinking that if some stranger came along and saw them in their current predicament, the person might get the wrong idea about what their relationship is. By now he had his lanky arms around Valon's limp body, but only to try to give him added warmth. Alister doubted he even had much warmth to offer by now. He felt half-frozen, all the more so because of his revealing tanktop. He slumped back against the wall of the snowbank. To heck with what they'd think. He actually saw Valon as a younger brother, though that certainly hadn't been the case when they had first met. But over time he had grown fond of the cheerful Australian, even though he didn't really understand him.
Valon stirred, opening his eyes weakly. "Hey . . . Alister?" he rasped, not able to focus clearly.
Alister looked down at him, surprised but relieved to see him even semi-conscious. "What."
"Why're you helping me?" Valon shuddered, not really processing much of the current situation. But somewhere in his mind he understood that Alister was staying by him and somehow had the patience to.
Alister grunted. "Because you need help," he responded.
Valon grinned weakly. "Yeah, well . . . most people never stopped to help me, even if I was layin' beaten half to death in the street." If he wasn't so ill, of course he would never allow himself to lean against Alister the way he was doing, but at the moment he was simply too weary to even try moving.
Alister narrowed his eyes slightly at the image of human apathy Valon was painting, though he was certain his friend was right. "Well. As you've probably figured out by now, I'm not like most people," he said finally.
Valon coughed. "Heh. You're sure not," he replied, feeling oblivion start to claim him again. "So . . . incase I don't get to say it later . . . thanks." His voice grew more faint with each word until he grew limp and slumped more against Alister.
The gray-eyed man sighed, looking down at him. He was feeling all the more as though he would slip into senselessness before long, but he was trying to fight against it. He doubted that would last for very much longer, however. As more time passed, he found that he no longer could feel the cold. Slowly his eyes closed and he fell limp against his friend.
This was how Raphael found them some time later.
In spite of the way the dub edited the two episodes we got, I adored them anyway! X3 How could I not? So much Raphieness. And it was so sweet the way he "lost" the duel. I put quotation marks because I don't think he really did "lose," since he overcame the power of the Orichalcos. And we get two new episodes this coming Saturday! We shall see how badly they've mashed Dartz's past. XD; And some of his secrets will finally be revealed. Muwahaha. **shoots a glance at certain people who don't like spoilers.**
