Scanned in some random stuff ... a half-finished pic of Branwyn Glyn, and two DC-related fanarts. Tried to draw Abracham last week, but it was awful, and I haven't had the heart to try again yet. XD;

On Saturday night I took lots of pictures from YouTube of the classic Detective Conan mailroom scene. XD Deprived of sleep, I started getting giggly and coming up with crack icon ideas. This morning I have made them. There's a few serious ones in there, but most are earlier and not from this batch. http://community.livejournal.com/conan_icons/64217.html?#cutid1 The one I'm using for this entry is probably my fave out of the batch. Though I also really like the ones involving the cigarette scene (which I can just imagine yaoi fangirls taking out of context). XD

My Ghosts fic is getting lots of positive reviews! I'm so happy with it. I'm working on chapter four now.

I don't think I'll be online until latenight today.... State holiday, commemorating when the pioneers first arrived here. I'm hoping to go to Borders and get some DC manga. X3 I also wish I could go see the local production of Beauty & the Beast (which I assume is the stage version of the Disney musical), but that probably won't happen. XD; It costs $8 per person to get in, and I'd be lucky to have money for a manga. **laughs.**

I'm planning to buy Case Closed manga at Otakon next weekend! ^__^ Anyway, I am really glad you got me into this series. It's awesome, and I really do love your fan fic for it. I wonder if my Saehara fic will be any good...

Be prepared for some bizarre names. XD Gin and Vodka are called Kaspar and Melchoir, and if you know about the most famous owners of the names (supposedly two of the three wise men in the Christmas story), it takes on a definite sort of irony that I rather enjoy . . . even though I prefer the original names.

Ooh, I like the first drawing. 'Tis really pretty. ^.^

And nice crack!icons, lol. XD So, how exactly do you take caps on YouTube? I'm guessing you hit Print Screen then paste the image somewhere, but I've never actually tried it.

Yep, that's how it's done. ^^ I paste it in Paint Shop Pro, after opening a background type thing that's as big or bigger than the size of the screen picture. Then I cut away everything except the screengrab.

I've seen the Gin-icons and love them. My favourite was the "Elementary, my dear Watson". XD

XD That was a strange, yet amusing icon. I'm not sure where I got that idea. I just looked at the pictures and odd captions started coming into my mind. LOL. Using Gin and Vodka in crack icons is fun.

I think that's your best drawing of a doppelganger yet! I really like the hair that comes down over her face. It's rather Kisara-ish. **nods** I really hope you can manage to draw Abracham some time soon. ^^

I like the Gin drawings, especially the second. LOL Though that first one is great from memory! XD Ayumi turned out somewhat strange, I think it's the eye mostly. XD; You should also try to flatten the tuffs on the back of her head, or at least the top one.

The Geico one is certainly great. XD I also like the Oro?! one a lot. Have you ever tried using a different font though? Maybe like Comic Sans? That one generally comes with computers . . . I sometimes wonder if they'd look better if you tried something different.

I'll get to that fic, I swear. XD; **just wishes her headache would go away** It's been here for days, and my sleep got all screwed up. --.--

I'm starting to think Utah has a hell of a lot more state holidays than everybody else. XD Or at least more they pay attention to. That or everybody does that and Illinois just doesn't give a crap. We seem to have minimum holidays, especially for getting days off of school and work. I know we became a state in 1818 and I think we were the 18th state . . . and that's about it. XD

It's neat that there's local productions and concerts and everything in your area, I wish we had more of that stuff . . . Though I'd probably concern myself with the manga first as well. XD

^^ Yeah, I wanted her to look Kisara-ish while still being her own person.

XD I can't draw kids well, for some reason. Though maybe if I had printed out a picture of Ayumi to look at....

^^ I used Comic Sans on the "Key to My Future!" one, actually. I don't like to use it too much because I don't think it looks fancy enough. XD; I have been playing around with different fonts.... The one I used on a lot of the crack icons is something I haven't really used before.

LOL. I don't know that Utah has an extra number of state holidays.... I can't think of too many off the top of my head, actually, except for July 24th.

Yeah, a printout might of helped. Perhaps you should experiment drawing in the style of the series? That might help a little. **likes to experiment with different series' styles now and again.**

Maybe you should look into http://www.dafont.com -- there's more fonts there than you can shake a stick at. Though if fancy goes wrong, it's usually better to go with clean and simple. XD If you really want that badly to start getting into iconage [insert here warning of the dangers of the addiction] you should ask Stacey about some of the tutorals she used for PSP since that program makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I don't even know a state holiday here. LOL Nobody talks about them . . .

XD I just like making them just randomly for fun, when ideas come to me. I don't think I'd ever want to seriously get into it, spending hours doing them and such, but tutorials for PSP sound useful indeed. ^^ Despite my desire to get a bit more fancy with them, I imagine there's other projects that I'll prefer putting my mind on. XD Which is how it usually goes with me....
