H/C musings

I got up chapter two of the crypt fic. I'm nervous about it; there's more references to a present-day setting, not to mention I was pulling on my hair trying to figure out what to do with Ahiru. On the one hand, she's worried about Fakir and wants to stay with him and encourage him to wake up. But Charon's there, and Ahiru's also worried about Autor going off to investigate the crime alone. So she goes with Autor, though she does tell Fakir she'll be back as soon as she can. In the end I don't know if I depicted her dilemma of being torn between her two best friends enough. (Yeah, at this point in my timeline, she and Autor are quite close.)

I ended up randomly drawing a picture of Fakir carrying a badly battered Autor. I had debated briefly on if Fakir actually could carry him, but then I remembered he carried Mytho in episode #6. It required yet another profile view, and I already did one of those on a pic where Autor is with Fakir after the fall down the stairs, so who knows, maybe I'll master it yet. Princess Tutu is challenging me to do several things I try to avoid in art. Backgrounds are another of those.

But yeah, Autor's really a mess. He's not wearing his glasses (he lost them in the calamity), his hair's slipping down over his left eye, and his clothes are ripped and torn something awful. In color there probably will be some blood. It's kind of a combination of a scenario for something that will likely be talked about soon, as well as a random, unrelated h/c scene I played out in my head. Autor seems to die in the latter, he goes still with his eyes half-open and Fakir closes them. I liked the imagery, but it's heartbreaking. He doesn't die in the former, though he probably will still end up looking just as alarming.

I always go all out creating RP journals; I give the character a birthdate and list their location. When I created Autor's, I debated a bit on what date to give him, but since I believe autumn is the most awesome time to be born I ended up deciding on September 23rd. I was thinking that would probably place him right on the cusp of the Virgo and Libra signs. Now, I don't believe in astrology, but I think it's kind of fun sometimes as a hobby. And I wanted him close to the Libra sign since it's mine, but I didn't want him to fall altogether under the Libra sign because I didn't think it was too much like him.

Then a few days later I see [livejournal.com profile] heaven_phoenix talking about some of the common attributes of the Virgo sign. I'm surprised, because a lot of it sounds so much like Autor. So I go and research more intricately because I'm so intrigued. And ... well, let's just say I think I made the perfect decision placing Autor's birthdate where he would fall under the sign of Virgo.

Among other things, Virgos are generally said to be perfectionists, critical (just as much of themselves as of others), blunt, analytical, organized, stronger than they may appear.... Sound familiar? Even a lot of the stuff about romance sounded like him, how they spend a long time looking for just the right one and that they're loyal when they find that one. Of course, it delves a little into fanon, but the general consensus is that he watched Rue from afar for a long time before they met. And he definitely doesn't seem the type who would just take any girl. And canonically, he is shown to be very loyal.

I am just totally amused by this coincidence, that I randomly gave him a birthdate and the corresponding sign ended up fitting so perfect. I could go a lot more in-depth, but I swear, almost everything I read about the sign's general traits made me think of Autor. XD;
