The fugue state fic is done. In WordPerfect it came out to 175 pages when I had it ready for printing. Once I have sheet protectors and a binder, I'll print it. (And I must say, thank goodness for double-sided printing.)
Meanwhile, I've turned my attention to the fic using The Call as the image song. I've decided to have Autor and Ahiru's confusion over what they feel for each other persist a bit longer. It seems more realistic and in keeping with the overall situation and circumstances. Plus, I'm hoping that if I can explore this a bit more, maybe I can shake this obsession with them in a romantic relationship, because what I love most is a familial friendship for them.
Chapter two is done unless I decide to add something else; I'll save it till tonight and look it over again. I like how it's turned out. And there ended up being an awkward situation that I hadn't thought of before but then realized would have to be addressed. LOL. It's somewhat reminiscent of the events in Beneath the Cover of a Book.
I have no idea at what point this will happen, but I have an image of Ahiru crying and running to Autor at some point, exclaiming, "Autor, you're my brother!" and hugging him.
And I'm wondering if Ahiru should be badly hurt towards the climax of this fic. A large part of this fic is exploring fairytales and some of the tropes thereof, and I'm thinking Autor would find that he is unable to revive Ahiru with a platonic but still true love kiss, as she did for him near the beginning. I'm not quite sure how she would be revived, though.
