I think I've determined that my most favorite West Side Story characters are Schrank, Krupke, and Doc, then Maria, Anita, and Bernardo. Of the Jets, I'm partial to Baby John, Anybodys, and Ice. However, I actually didn't notice/like the Jets as much as some of the other characters. Also, sometimes I feel like they got a little too much screentime in comparison with the Sharks.

A oneshot idea hit me in the head the other day and I've since quickly jotted it down and posted. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7210006/1/ It involves Doc and Schrank interacting, something that intrigues me a lot.

I've also continued to muse on this Perry Mason fic. Tentatively it might be called The Case of the Persecuted Prosecutor. I think it would open with some hot-head criminal threatening Mr. Burger in court. Then later something would happen and he would apparently turn up dead. The readers would learn he was alive before the other characters did, but the readers would probably be led on a bit too.

And finally this weekend, I saw a couple of Outer Limits episodes I haven't ever seen before, except for brief excerpts: I, Robot and Keeper of the Purple Twilight. They were both really good and deep. And Edward Platt was in the latter! That's the third Outer Limits episode I've seen him in.

Yes, they definitely raised some intriguing questions! I didn't want the alien to die either. I also wished it had ended with the guy being reunited with Janet and her finding out what had happened. And I, Robot particularly had an all-star cast. I loved Leonard Nimoy as the reporter. And he looked good in a fedora.

Oh, I haven't! Thanks for the link; it sounds very interesting.

Awesome! Where do those episodes turn up?

That's really a shame. I'm sure it's just as good. I have a long list of episodes from that which I want to see, including many you've mentioned.

I was kind of exasperated at not having subtitles for the German (and the French, and whatever other foreign languages will turn up), but at the same time it was interesting to see how much of their intent the characters could get across even without their words being understood.

I'll have to look up The Wounded Don't Cry, definitely!

I'm pretty clueless on everything. I need to learn some foreign languages; it would be a really nice and useful skill.

Thanks! That would be, yeah.

Oh, I've seen some of The Wild, Wild West too! Simon's episode, barring the real-life accident, was absolutely hilarious and fun. And I also saw a haunted house episode, Night of the Man-Eating House. That was creepy but awesome. I'll definitely be watching more of that show.

That's neat! I was trying to learn Spanish. I need to go back to that.

Haha, I wish the same thing. I would love to learn Japanese someday, but it seems to be so jaw-dropping complicated and complex.

It's definitely that! I was thinking one could write fanfiction where they're having another misadventure in the house, since most of the episode is a dream and at the end they find the house in reality. (I think the dream was probably a warning.)

I stumbled across knowledge of the episode because of William Talman (Mr. Burger on Perry Mason) being in it as the sheriff. But when I read the summary, I knew it was one I'd want to see in any case. I want to use the crying house idea for a fic sometime (maybe a Kolchak one).

Sweet!

I'll have to check out that Limbo episode before I'd try writing anything for the Man-Eating House episode! Yeah, I'd like for there to be a different outcome so the sheriff could get out alive, haha.

AURGH, is Livejournal finally going to let me reply?! This week has been a disaster on this website.

I saw the episode! Oh, hello there, Ricardo Montalban. He certainly is talented; he plays very nasty villains and very wonderful people too. The episode was quite brain-breaking, but a lot of fun. And Jim's expression when Artie died ... wow, that was heart-breaking.

Same here. Then when I could get into it, I could barely move around. Ugh.

Yes, he's one of Mom's favorites! I enjoy him too.

Oh poor both of them! I'll definitely check that one out.

(Say, how many times does Artie "die"? LOL.)

Season 1 does sound like it had quite a different tone! Do you know why they decided to change it?

Wow. LOL. It sounds like the writers enjoyed beating up on Arte. With those summaries I think I'm most intrigued by Pistoleros and Big Blast. And the amnesia episode.

That is odd, about Arte being laid up longer. **snerk.** And poor Jeremy.

Very interesting!

Ahh yes.

Huh. That would have been neat, in order to see everyone, but I wonder if it would have felt like someone was a third wheel. I've only seen a few episodes and I'm so used to there being Jim and Arte that I'm not sure what I'd think of there being three.

Oh really? Neat! Which episodes are those?

Ahh, that Charles Aidman. I'll have to check some of those episodes out, then; I'm curious after hearing you praise him up so much! Do you have a recommendation for a good Jeremy episode? And I can't remember: did the series finish out with him and Jim or was Arte able to return before the end?

The Night of the Returning Dead. LOL. Zombies?

Character actors are awesome. I'll add that episode to my list of ones to look at!

Ahh, I see. That was probably a good decision, to scatter them throughout.

It's neat when reunion movies click like that!

Oh, a couple weeks ago I saw this Gunsmoke episode called Legends Don't Sleep. It was really interesting. On the one side, there was Matt Dillon's view of things, that this criminal had not fully paid for all the wrongs he had done and that he was a completely bad person. On the other side, the viewers saw a kinder side to the criminal when he was trying to look after his aunt and protect this idolizing kid following him around. He seemed to genuinely want to turn his life around, but no one would let him. The full truth probably lies somewhere in between Matt's view and the aunt's and kid's views. He definitely wasn't completely bad, that's for sure. I have to wonder what Matt would have thought if he had realized that the two former gang members Race Fallon killed near the end were trying to kill that kid and Race was trying to protect him.

I'm sure I will!

There was not. Poor Race Fallon.

Matt was pretty compassionate in the B&W episode The Hostage (not to be confused with the color episode Hostage!). That episode Vengeance sounds really heart-breaking! So Matt believed the poor kid was guilty of all the crimes?

Darren McGavin is in The Hostage, if you ever want to have a look. His character is really interesting, too.

Wow, that would be a jolt. It sounds like a really intense episode! And the thing about the hired killers certainly makes me raise an eyebrow.

Gosh, that's the same thing Race Fallon did---drawing against Matt and threatening to kill him because he wanted Matt to kill him. And when he was laying dying, he told Matt that in some strange way, Matt was probably the closest thing to a friend he had ever had.

Vengeance sounds absolutely heart-shattering! And already being attached to the actor would certainly make it worse, yes.

How many do they have out now?

Yeah, that makes sense that they were trying to keep the radio character.

It really was! Even moreso since Matt seemed to be viewing everything in such stark black and white. I wonder if his feelings on Race Fallon would have changed any by the time of the color episodes.
