It's been rather hectic the past couple of weeks. I haven't had much time for writing on LJ, nor really anything I wanted badly enough to report here.

Tonight I've been busy working on this: http://hated-character.livejournal.com/438282.html I'm quite proud of it.

And as the Christmas season comes upon us, I find for some reason that the music and the lights from my little trees reminds me strongly of YGO and makes me want to write something with Duke. What that would be, I haven't the faintest idea. Maybe I should try to pick up Close Your Eyes, Clear Your Heart again. Or write something in the Alone Again timeline. I was quite intrigued with the two stories I did for that.

Also, Once Upon a Time is a really exciting and original TV series. It, and A Gifted Man, are two shows I'm following this season. I haven't been so interested in recent TV shows for some time. I like Once Upon a Time the best, but A Gifted Man is improving. I've had some serious issues with some of the themes and presentation in that one, which I may or may not rant on later. But I will say Anna is one of the most annoying characters I've encountered lately. The most recent episode is the only time she didn't aggravate me even once, so I hope that's a good sign.

That's intriguing that Christmas reminds you of YGO, especially since there never was a Christmas show.

I haven't been so interested in recent TV shows for some time.

It's not so much Christmas in general as it seems to be Christmas this year. The reason is because the YGO movie was released on DVD in November and that's when I first bought and saw it. And also because it was around the end of the year when I wrote a lot of my more recent fics involving Duke or the Bakuras. My little trees were on during that time.

Ahh, that makes sense then. That's fun and nostalgic, to have a fandom so closely related to the holidays. I usually associate Halloween with Garfield because of the special and various "Garfield's Tales of Scary Stuff" he does.

I really want to watch Once upon a time and the other show that was mentioned on the pt community which also involves fairytales but I guess I don't really have the time to start a new series :S

I already have a hard time keeping up with other series

but maybe I should still check it out...

Hopefully you can find it if you can make the time to watch it! I think both ABC.com and Hulu.com will only play it to U.S. residents, but I could be wrong about ABC at least.... I hate their player, though.

but if it's popular enough I'll surely find another site to watch it
otherwise I'll wait until it's released here in germany but that could take at least 6 months or even a year

I actually kind of associate YGO with Christmas, too! I used to always get YGO cards as one of my gifts, and we had a cousin who would always bring his deck to the family get-together, and we'd all play. :)

Fun times! I miss the days when YGO merchandise was everywhere. In the Christmas season of 2003 I bought so much YGO stuff....
