So I keep meaning to post on this, but a couple weeks ago or so I saw Christopher Cary's guest-spot in The Time Tunnel, when he played Merlin. (Yeah, that Merlin.)
Admittedly, I thought Arthur was kind of namby-pamby (but it was while he was still really young), but I thought Chris's performance was excellent! I didn't find anything wrong with his interpretation of Merlin. Considering that in a lot of canons, Merlin is apparently an out-and-out villain, Chris's was quite mild. And he was a good guy, or relatively good, anyway.
And you could tell he was having a ball. He talked about the role in an article I found a while back and mentioned it was one of his favorite roles.
He looked so adorable while smiling too, even behind that fake beard.
I found a couple more articles on him tonight, much to my delight. I posted the links on my Tumblr. http://lucky-ladybugs-lovelies.tumblr.com Such a cheeky Brit. I love him.
