http://www.side7.com/cgi-bin/S7SDB/Display.pl?act=image&iid=320171 Yay Alexander. ^^ He's so cute. I love those wide blue eyes.
Last night was quite active. XD **had two action RPs going on.** In one, Scandinavians overran the city with their magic items and Siegfried is possessed by Sigurd, who was the one in control when he called Yaminah "Brunnhilde." Sigurd killed the dragon thingie that had Nebilung's Ring and then he put it on, passing the curse to Siegfried. (I've read somewhere on Wikipedia that the curse involved the wearer being doomed to die.) Everyone's fighting down at the docks, but some of the people have slipped into the city. And Siegfried insists that Leonhard be taken back home. (He's at the docks because Brunnhilde in disguise took him there. She'll explain why later.) Leonhard doesn't know about the curse, but Siegfried is worried that someone will kill Leonhard to get to him because they want the Ring. (He can't get it off.) And he also doesn't want Leonhard to have to watch him die.
The other RP involves a retelling of Doom Reborn, with some twists. ^^ However, I dunno whether I should get into it here, because those new ideas are DSM's and plans for future stories of hers. Soo . . . I'd best keep quiet about it for now. I'll just say that Alexander is adorable as always, and he made friends with one of DSM's OCs. ^^ Siegfried likes this OC as well, because she seems to be his equal in charms and trickery. XD But of course they will not have a romance. They shall be friends, because that is amusing.
And I lost yu-jyo.net for several days because I forgot the hyphen and Netscape had destroyed my links. -.-; So I couldn't remember Siegfried's Valkyries' names, except Brunnhilde. I went on Wikipedia and stole the name Schwertleite from the list of Wagner's Valkyries. Only four of Siegfried's Valkyries are named on the show, it seems. I think there's one unnamed one, and then he probably has at least four others for a total of nine. I picture Schwertleite to be a mint-haired one. And since there's three pink-haired ones, there could be more than one mint-haired one. Anyway, when I finally got back into yu-jyo, I found the Valkyrie names Zweite (which I remembered from the show, but couldn't spell), Erste (forgot the Japanese name), and Dritte. Schwertleite and Dritte are in the Scandinavian RP, along with Brunnhilde. The others have now appeared, but the other unnamed ones are as of yet still unnamed.
Before I went to sleep yesterday, I remembered something else I'd seen on yu-jyo, and that gave me new possible insight into Siegfried's personality. Here is the comparison of English and Japanese dialogue from episode #194 that I found intriguing:
Kaiba asks Zigfried if he's sure he wants to go through with this. Zigfried says he wouldn't miss the chance to destroy his arch-rival in front of the entire world. (Japanese Kaiba asks Siegfried if he's afraid. Siegfried says no, it's his honor to duel Kaiba.)
Note that last sentence. Fascinating, wouldn't you say? He could have meant it mockingly, but his past actions say otherwise. He wanted Seto to figure out that he, Siegfried, was behind the mischievous viruses. Those early things he did seemed to be set up as a challenge to Seto. I'm starting to believe that Siegfried both hates and respects Seto. I added a paragraph or so about this to my Siegfried essay. ^^ If true, it gives another intriguing angle to this man's personality.
**pets icon.** I always got a kick out of that scene, and in spite of my dislike of Alister's bluntness crossing the line in the dub to become attitude, I love Ted Lewis's voice for him and I love that introductory exclamation. XD His Japanese voice kinda seems too deep. I wish there was something in between. . . .

Date: 2005-11-18 04:38 pm (UTC)I'm glad that your RPs are going so well. That's always great. I, unfortunately, usually have to deal with people who think that their way is the only way. That, or they can't type to save their lives and I have to spend five minutes trying to decipher what they're trying to say.

Date: 2005-11-18 11:20 pm (UTC)yu-jyo is a cool site; I use it to help me remember what went on during different episodes so that I can get some of my quotes and scenes correct in my story... And also so that I can sort of combine some of the dub's facts with the Japanese facts. ^^
Leonhard is so polite XD Rebecca's over there just whining because she lost, and he's like, "I'm sorry..."

Leonhard is awesome. XD I actually like Rebecca, but she would do well to copy a little of Leonhard's politeness.
