Sakura Wars/Taisen!

I started watching my Sakura Wars DVD while Bratz was on. ^^ Wow. This is great. It's just what I was hoping for from the OVA: character development. I did a bit of research and found that the second series of OVAs is better than the first, so I must try to get hold of that. I like the English voices in the OVA, but the TV show has a different cast for at least some of the girls, and I don't like the new voices (or the dialogue changes) so I'm watching the TV show in Japanese. Next step is to find a nice detailed information site with characters bios and how the TV show and OVAs fit together. The opening theme is the same for both (and for the games too, it seems). It's really catchy. ^^
And YGO was awesome. Yugi-tachi is finally in the Memory World, and they stumbled across people trying to stone Kisara. (Yes, they left the stones in.) And they kept in Yami B pinning Akunadin to the floor and putting his foot on Akunadin's throat.
I like Bobasa. XD Though I do prefer his manga counterpart, the anime one is cool too.
Poor Shadow. Without his memories, he's been trusting Eggman. He's going to be in for a rude awakening. Unfortunately, I think Sonic X goes into reruns after a filler episode next week....
But! Megaman Axess comes back on weekdays starting Monday! W00t! With Protoman serving the "dark side," things are really intense. I've read the summaries for the last Axess episodes and they're awesome.
We're having flurries tonight. XD It looks great against the backdrop of Christmas lights up and down our street. Most people on our street turn Christmas lights on, so it looks really awesome. (Not everyone's done it yet, though.)
Last week we got most of the new Poseidon Adventure movie recorded and watched it. It's so much better than the old one! It makes more sense, because it shows the rescue effort as well as what the people in the ship are doing. And there wasn't a plethora of swearing. XD;;; There was a little bit, but it wasn't in every other sentence. Unfortunately, that channel doesn't come through very well, so the picture was pretty bad. I hope they release that on DVD. I might get it. ^^ Until that happens, I'm kinda thinking I'll hold onto the recording, even though the quality is pretty bad.
We also watched Episode III and Episode II, in that order. XD When we see Episode III, Mom gets wanting to see the other Star Wars movies. But that's fine with me. ^^ I think in a lot of ways, Episode II is my favorite of the prequels. It was the one I anticipated the most, and the one I associate the most special memories with, but in addition, I didn't feel that the characters were bad or that there was an abundance of just focusing on battles. **shrugs.** Also, there were bounty hunters. XD;; **always was a Star Wars bounty hunter fan.**
Episode III had some deleted scenes on the second disc that I wish would have been included in the movie. It involved Padmé getting involved with the newly forming Rebel Alliance. ^^ It gave everything more of a "classic trilogy" feel. I understand the reasons for taking them out (the movie was running too long, the focus needed to be more on Anakin), but still, I wish they hadn't been.

Date: 2005-11-27 03:47 pm (UTC)That's cool about the Christmas lights and flurries. We're going to be in the mid- or upper seventies today. As for lights, we're so far back off the road that no one would really be able to see them if we put them up. We have seen a few houses with their lights up and on, a couple of which are really neat looking.

Date: 2005-11-28 04:56 am (UTC)I hope they rerun the YGOs over the summer, I did wanna watch this last season just because . . . well, it's the last season, but Saturday mornings are when I try and catch up on all the last sleep from over the week. Blah.
I forgot about the Poseidon Adventure too. Durrr! I wanted to see that, even though I'd never watched the original, my Mom said she'd liked it.
Star Wars . . . now there's something I haven't watched in a while. I haven't even gotten the last DVD yet. I would like to see those deleted scenes . . . Hmmm . . . I dunno, probably in the long run, I was more into the original's because they had more of the smugglers and stuff like Han Solo. The rogues already appealed to me at an early age. LOL **saw Star Wars in Kindergarten when she had pneumonia** So my fave Star Wars books have to do with a lot of Lando and Han. But I just haven't watched much of the big stuff like Star Wars or LOTR for quite a while. Odd.

Date: 2005-11-28 09:51 am (UTC)I still wanna get the DVDs of the original trilogy. ^^ I heard that George Lucas added a few more things in, and he had Temuera Morrison re-record Boba Fett's lines. I dunno, I think that was unnecessary, because I always figured that Boba was electronically disguising his voice, but whatever. XD
